O ther than the one Top Gun coaster, Talon is the only invert with less than 5 inversions (i think). I was wondering if the ride would be better if it had more, or is it fine the way it is?
I just rode it yesterday, and it lacks
nothing. Intense inversions, tight helices, quick direction changes, and even
airtime! I like it more than Raptor.
Those who say new B&M coasters are "forceless," go to Dorney, ride Talon, and shut your mouths. :)

Actually, Talon's "neighbor", The Great Bear (Hersheypark) has only 4 inversions. Since I have not ridden Talon yet (hope to change that this summer) I will reserve coment on it. HOWEVER, a lower number of inversions does not make a "bad" invert. Again, The Great Bear proves that. There is something about its gracefulness that I will take any day over the frantic pacing of some other inverts such as the dueling Fire and Ice dragons.

"Resistance is futile... you will be assimilated." The BORG's (and Six Flags') motto.
I'll keep this short, as I don't want to upset anyone:
Rode them both within 3 days, and Talon blows Great Bear
out of the water. It's probably my second favorite steel coaster, just behind Millennium Force. (Yeah, it's that good.)

Lynch, I know a few people who've ridden it, and they have indifferent opinions. They in fact said that it's forceless, just like all other B&M's these days. All you people who live up there may not want to admit it, but it's true. Also, saying that it's better than Raptor means nothing, since Raptor is one of the most boring rides on the planet.:)

Talon lacks nothing, but if I were to add something it would be another ground level helix in the other direction so the other side of the train gets to see the ground rushing by. I like the new B&M better, give me space/time/tranisitions between elements as opposed to B:TR element/element/element..., trasitions? we don't need no stinkin' transitions.
Talon was fantastic, in my opinion. There is nothing that it lacks... it has your standard array of inversions, tight curves, and even airtime! Imagine that, airtime on an invert! While I think the design would have benefitted from a batwing element (like that on Top Gun: TJC and Montu), it is fine the way it is. A great coaster, and the perfect addition for Dorney.

That is terrible...who can rip on the almighty B&M and there beautiful creations that are world renowned for there ride quality!

Life is short, make it count...
Yeah, B&M are great! Without them, where would we be today?

I needed a small vacation, so they put me on a train. They called it rehabilitation, but here I am again-Monster Magnet
nemesis @ alton towers has 4 inversions too, but it sure doesnt look like its lacking anything...and i also agree about the b&m thing, they rock!!!

First off, you'll note that I don't live "up there." Kennywood's my home park, but I guess you didn't figure that out from the signature. Apparently you haven't seen any of my posts regarding my love for the city of Pittsburgh and its teams (and my contempt for Cleveland, for that matter ;)), either. I've been to Dorney Park once in my life, and that was yesterday. Before that, I didn't care one way or another for the place. I'm as unbiased as one can get.
Second, there's no "it's true" about it.
My opinion is that it's extremely intense. The bottom of the first drop and exiting the loop are probably the closest I've come to blacking out on a coaster, and the helices are right up there as well.
You say "like all the other B&M's these days." Sure, I'll admit that I could fall asleep on Batman: Knight Flight, but Talon is an
entirely different story.

Talon is among the best coaster riding experiences I have had. It really lacks nothing (and don't say anything about size, or number of this or that). Oh, wait, I think the stairwell to the station should be wider.

I know you rider Gonna miss me when I'm gone
First off PKI-goer, I wasn't saying that ALL B&M's are bad, I'm saying that the latest ones are forceless, that's all there is to it. Personally, I LOVE the older B&M's, B:TR is one of my all-time favorite rides. And Lynch, if Kennywood is your home park, then you DO live up there.;) But don't get me wrong, I thought it looked like a fantastic ride, but the people who told me it's forceless have the exact same opinions as I do on coasters, so I trust them. Now I know, "don't rip it until you ride it," but newer B&M's just don't do anything for me.

SO, do you and your friends share the same mind? Apparently, because you are disrespecting a ride you havent even been on. But I forgot, they said it was forceless so it HAS to be, right?
It lacks the most important thing. Location! Wasn't this thing supposed to be built on the current site of my neighbor's house? I thought I evicted them and had the house condemned so B&M could build it there for me... Oh well. Maybe the next inverted.

Wow, "forceless". I've only been on 2 B&M's but I would never call them forceless. I thought that Wildfire was one of the most intense coasters I have ever been on with G-forces out the hiney.

I rode Talon for the first time last week and I have to say I was very disappointed with it!
It was still a good ride (as are all B&M inverts), but for B&M this is a very mediocre design. It offers nothing that you can't experience on their other inverts. The ride also lacks theming.
Wow, this B&M lacks nothing. I've been on B:TR, Talon, Great Bear, and Alpie. Talon shines above them all! Seriously, Talon has superb pacing, a wicked design with 90 degree turns and a 110 degree incline spiral. The G's are very extreme. You hit 4 G's before and after the loop, and you get floater air in at least 4 locations on the ride. I believe this ride is unique and awesome. Name one other invert that has this kind of stuff?
-------------
Talon=Awesome
I agree with Raven_Rider on this one. The latest set of B&M's have left me jaded towards anything they build in the near future. (Batman: Knight Flight is unexcusable. B&M were given a fantastic site, and lots of size, and they returned a decidely boring ride. nuff said)
And also, I have heard from quite a few people that Talon is not deserving of some of the accolades some people are giving it, and i trust those friends. I feel like they have good taste, and until I actually ride the ride, I am going to take their word for it.
