Does Arrow make Hypers or STS anymore?

What do you mean, stealing the basics? I think using wheels and chain dogs were around for a while before Arrow used them. Isn't B&M's train design pretty original?

I play in a really awful garage band, but it's still fun.

I mean things like taking suspended and going one step further, now development of the 4D (supposedly). Arrow was the first to really put loops into the mainstream, and corkscrews. Just seems like everything starts with Arrow, but leaves them in the dust.

What do you do now Evil Coaster designer?

I agree Arrow has the vision but sucks at follow up and prioritizing. It's my favorite company and it's sad that "they' can't get it together.

Coaster Bob,

I work military defense now, But I keep in touch with a few of the Arrow folk and chances are I might do some work for them in the future.

So it sounds like a project for Arrow may be in the works?

Factoid:

Back in the 80's Arrow tried to do a loop with the suspended vehicle. They built a test track, the vehicle whipped into the loop, separated from the wheel carrier/chassis and when through the side of a building. Ron Toomer at this time decried that it was impossible to make a looping suspended and the project was halted. Don't get me wrong Ron Toomer was a brilliant designer, the corksrew vehicle is a beautiful design, if you analyse it you understand why the hitches, axles, wheelcarriers are located where they are and in doing new designs I could always reference back to the corkscrew and realize why something did or didn't work. but after the corkscrew era there were essentially no new rides coming out of arrow for a decade and a half until we did the mad mouse and that was not really any kind of breakthrough!

I can't say with any authority, but I'm sure you will see some great thing coming from S&S Arrow.
ERCD you had to at least hear a rumor.Ok just yes or No. In the US or abroad. That's it. I promise I won't ask anymore questions.

CoasterBob, relax on Evil. He's proven his knowledge, let's not chase him outta here with all the "what's next..." type stuff/rumors that really isn't considered welcome around here anyway.

I'm glad to finally hear what me and a friend of mine suspected all along from someone who worked with them. Magnum is, for an intents and purposes, a 200 foot tall Mine Train.

I'm not an enthusiast. I just play one on message boards.

It's true, CP has three Arrow mine rides. Gemini and Magnum are one hell of Mine ride though.

Lets not forget the Steel Phantom...and wasnt there another?

Steel Phantom was a looper until Morgan rebuilt it.

Steel Phantom always got classified as a "sorta" hyper coaster because it featured a 200+ foot drop, but it was really an Arrow looping coaster. It used Arrow's traditional looping coaster rolling stock intstead of the RAT rolling stock. Even though Morgan turned it into a true non-looping hyper coaster, it still uses the same RAT train chassis.

Rob,

Steel phantom uses a corkscrew chassis, Rat Chassis are (as mentioned above) for all intents and purposes mine train chassis. and cannot negotiate a loop, also track gauge is different. the Magnum (mine train) chassis was the first to use up-stop wheels, originally there was an upstop bar but it was contacting the rails and sending showers of sparks so they were modified with a 3.0 dia. up-stop wheel, now a 6.00 dia. up-stop wheel is standard.

That's what I mean by a "traditional Arrow looping coaster" chassis- what you refer to as a Corkscrew chassis. Someone mentioned Steel Phantom being a hyper coaster and I was trying to explain that it used different rolling stock than "real" Arrow hypers.

Could the Hyper's intellectual properties belong to Morgan?

Not likely, since Morgan's hyper coaster trains were very much based upon Arrow's RAT chassis (with a few modifications). I am assuming that Morgan "borrowed" the basic design, since I never heard of intellectual properties being sold.

I'm surprised that Arrow didn't take legal action against Morgan? Morgan's Hypers are almost exact replicas of Arrow's.

I don't think that it would have been possible to patent the idea of a non-looping steel coaster, since it didn't feature any breakthrough technology that Arrow spent time & money developing.

I'm talking about the train and track structure.

Why didn't CF order more hypers from Morgan instead of Arrow. It just strange that after Morgan started making the Hyper Arrow did not.
