They have two of the best woodies around, but now it 's time to build a great steel coaster.I would say a floorless.
I'm not so sure I would want to see one there. There's something about the park that almost makes a big modern steel coaster seem out of place. I wouldn't mind seeing a Wildcat or something smaller like that, though.
Jeff
They had a steel coaster once, a Galaxi called Firecracker.
I wouldn't expect to see a large steel coaster there simply because of $$$. Why spend $10,000,000 plus for a big piece of steel, when a total of $5,000,000 gives you 2 of the top 5 wooden coasters in the world!! (According to Amusement Today.)
If I had $5,000,000 I'd sure take two CCI woodies like those! (Legend cost 3, Raven was 2) Heck, I don't even think $5 mil can buy a simple Boomerang today!

Maybe they can buy Drachen fire for 5,000,000.
A floorless at a nice classic park? The two woodies are fine enough.

how bout big Cheif Karts and Coasters
From what I have seen and heard about the park it seems like it might be smarter for them to stick to woodies which they seem to do good with.

When the time comes...just look at Silver Dollar City and Kentucky Kingdom (they got Chang before Six Flags bought them). So, probably in the future.

I'm sure if they get a steel coaster, it won't be towering. They seem to like terrain coasters, which is a good thing. I'm sure if they do get a steel coaster, they will make it go along with what the park is like, correctly themed, and terrain. I doub they would get one though, because IMO wooden coasters work better for terrain than steel.

Some sort of shuttle like S:UE or V2 would be great for either Holiday World or Big Chiefs. Intense, state of the art, somewhat inespensive, and they don't take up a lot of space.

Current favorite coasters:
Wooden: 1) Beast 2) Raven 3) Son of Beast 4) The Boss 5) The Legend
Steel: 1) Raging Bull 2) Millennium Force 3) V2 4) Wild Thing 5) Mr. Freeze
A smaller mouse or something I could see, but nothing huge. They're still more expensive. Imagine... they're two world-class coasters cost around $2-4 million each to build.

I don't know how The Raven beats out The Legend. I rode both yesterday. I was rather disappointed with The Raven in the morning, but it got a lot better at night...but not as good as The Legend. That was a lot rougher than I had expected.
It got even more intense and fast in the afternoon and at night. The ERT on that thing was freaking awesome! So great it gave me a head ache. :) They shut off all the lights for us, and we over-shot the brakes by about 20 feet, so we got a re-ride! If Cedar Point gets anything like this and makes it a little more smooth, it would be awesome!
I don't think that a steel would fit in the park (not space-wise). I just think that the park should and will make woodies.
I don't really want to see a steel coaster at Holiday World, other than a mouse like Jeff said. I would be perfectly content for them to build yet another world class CCI coaster. To have three top ten CCI's would be a great honor for one park, and would definately solidify them as one of the ultimate enthusiast parks imo. Of course, this is just my opinion. :)
Holiday World needs to stop building wood coaster because I would like to see a steel coaster at the park. They need to "move up the latter."

I'm sure anyone who has been to HW will STRONGLY disagree with that!

Do you mean ladder? They are at the top! Just look at how many Golden Ticket awards they got this year. (And how many they have had in the past!) I would like to hear someone who has been to the park say they need to "stop building wood coasters"!!!

I think an "old fashioned" steel coaster like SFOG's Mindbender or SFMM Revolution would be great there. Maybe even an old intamin shuttle loop. But defintely NOT a B&M of any kind. Nothing against B&M, love 'em, but they are just too much $$$ for too little bang (alot of strong +G's aren't bang for me at least).
Either way, I still LOVE Holidayworld.

Ow! My lap bar IS down all the way.
Large steel coasters can be done at a classic parks without ruining it. Dollywood, which has Tennessee Tornado, keeps the old fashion feel even with a monster coaster.

They'd have to theme it to some kind of wild horse or something. ;)

No parks should stop building wooden coasters! Wooden coasters are being built less and less each year :(
We need as many as we can get!
Who on this board can say wooden coasters suck?
NO ONE.

PCW needs something taller than a boomerang
the ting is they can't theme it, i mean the park used to be called santa clause land, and so far everything big like coaster is in the halloween section, if they somthing new look to the water park or some other section.
