Do not "Get to the Point"

gator - What exactly happened at Knott's? Everyone seems to be pretty P.O.'d, but no one is actually saying what happened. At least not in the T.R.s I've read.

Too late and I really enjoyed it... it was my favorite park that I have visited in my life :)

CP is a great park, my home park and I have a season pass there. Let's see, I've been to Knoebels once, HW twice, and am going Wed. to IB for the second time.

I can't say enough good things about CP, so I guess that makes me obcessed too. I do go to the smaller parks for a different experience..........especially the better wood !!!!!! Hmmmm, didn't I see a TR about Wisconsin Dells? Maybe worth exploring sometime.

Absolutely, Jeff! Already this 2002 season, I have been to Cedar Point, Six Flags Worlds Of Adventure, King's Island, and Magic Mountian, with Islands, Dorney, S.F. Over Georgia, Michigan's Adv, and Sea World Orlando to come. Of the ones I have been to CP is run the best mainly due to it's Customer Service, Capacity Issues, and overall management. I am afraid, INTAMIN GUY that it is you who are "blinded" if you can not see how good C.P. really is. If you don't go to Cedar Point, that's great...less of a line in front of me for Wicked Twister!

First, Cedar Point is worth visiting, however, it is not so great that one must by pass every other park(which some do). There are CP fans who will visit other parks and then rip on the parks for not being as good as CP. all I am saying is there are other parks and I am amazed by how some people are so attracted to Cedar Point that they can't see anything else. Yes, I am Intamin Guy and I think Cedar Point has three good Intamins, but Intamin alone doesn't make up the industry. I also have to say that I feel bad for anyone who visits one or two parks only and will not visit anyplace else. It just seems that there is more of this with Cedar Point than there is with other parks. The downside of the dedication to CP results in looking the other way when CP makes a mistake. CP's problems with Wicked Twister have been accepted by the masses. If WT had been at Paramount or Six Flags, coaster enthusiasts would have wanted the park president to be shot, the park closed and a refund on their admission. The point I am trying to make with WT is how enthusiasts are biased towards certain things. Just because some halfwit site like Coasterbuzz presents Cedar Point with awards for being the best this and te best that(doesn't that go against the TOS?) doesn't mean anything. Cedar Point makes mistakes the same as any other park. I was there less than two weeks ago and I have the Joe Cool Club on my season pass. There were people there for the ERT that were neither members of Joe Cool or guests of the hotels. I have never had this problem at PKI's gold pass ERT's. All Cedar Point managed to do is devalue my season pass. If I had know it was that easy to get in to the ERT, I wouldn't have spent the extra $15 for Joe Cool. This is one example of Cedar Point not delivering what it promises, but being what most of you are, your heads will turn the other way because this happened at Cedar Point.

You're the one who is blind, man. Show an example of this! Just because someone frequents a park and sings its praises does not mean they don't love other parks/rides too. Why do many people go to Cedar Point "all the time" Probably because they live right there! They know the "joys" of Kennywood and Idlewild, but can't make the trek all the time.

People have told me that they feel sorry for me only going to CP once a year. I feel sorry for them for not knowing the joys of Kennywood's Phantom or Idlewild's Rollo Coaster. Paramount Canada's Wonderland is the most beautiful park in the world to me and the Canadian people are pretty nice to talk to, yet if all I were to do is go to Cedar Point, I would never know what PCW is like. Cedar Point is a great park, but I would not be a coaster enthusiast if all I ever did was "Get to the Point". Everyone who is obsessed with CP needs to get out and see what other places have to offer. After all, you can't ride the world's oldest coaster at Cedar Point, but you can at a place called Lakemont. That is one of the many reasons why I do not see a need to always "Get to the Point", besides life would be POINTless if there were no PKI, PCW or KW.

-Point exactly, who cares about the facts and forget about the stereotypes. These guys aren't obsessed with Cedar Point, they're obsessed with coasters and if you knew the quality of CP coaster then it's a no brainer that so many have become found of Cedar Point. And at Cedar Point, coasters are just the beginning of thrill paradise.
