Disneyland Resort will offer a new $400 line-skipping option called Lightning Lane Premier Pass, which allows a limited number of customers to head to the front of the line on all 24 Lightning Lane attractions across Disneyland and Disney California Adventure without having to book a specific time to ride.

That’s fair. I don’t know how people are staying at Grand Flo or Grand Cali.
DVC? The advertised room rates are outrageous. We've stayed at the two bedroom villas at Grand Californian three times with a group of 8. It worked out to about $400 per night. Hard to beat that price point with early admission and a quick walk to the parks.
LostKause:
The toilet stalls did take a dime though. I think that was to prevent people from doing sexytime in the restrooms.
A dime to secure a place for a quickie is probably the best deal in the park.
The Magic Key Rates help too. Seriously, I hope this Premier Pass takes off. At WDW I never spring for the Lightning Lane, I rope drop and in the middle of the day explore/watch shows/ride low wait rides. DLR is a different story, there is not nearly enough of those rides and with more rides densely packed I buy it. I can stack Midway Mania/Guardians/Soarin and use the single rider line to do Incridicoaster and Racers in afternoons I start at DL, when I start with DCA, it’s Space/Matterhorn/Indy/Big Thunder I stack.
If premiere pass takes off and they stop selling Multi Lightning Lane then that will result in less people using the Lightning Lane and I can go back to using stand by again. I don’t mind waiting in a 30-45 min line in the middle of the day a few times.

Reminds me of managing my RCT parks; my restrooms were rarely free.
People gotta pee. Or fornicate.
Let me make an on-topic comment for a change...
Most people know my opinions about pay-to-cut. And Gonch was right a hundred years ago when he said Disney would eventually make people pay for the privilege of cutting the line. I've said this all beofre.
I don't usually talk about this part though... If it were very expensive, and not a lot of people could afford it, I wouldn't mind at all. The less people cutting, the better. A $400 line cutting experience is great, except that all the cheaper options are still available. If they're going to let everyone cut, no one cuts.
It's like what people say about AI art these days. If everyone's an artist, no one is.

I remember this being the case at Conneaut Lake in the very early 80's, but no one else seems to.
And RCT, of course.
If everyone's an artist, no one is.
The obvious endgame with AI is completely personalized entertainment. We've already fractured the "common experience" that people our age had as kids with the more focused algorithm-based streaming that we have now. When any of us can just give a computer a vague idea of what we like and it can endlessly generate ideas and after you up and down vote to refine to perfection during the setup process - well, the movies and television I watch and the music I listen to are going to be unique to me...and yours to you.
No one has to be an artist. (by your definition)
And to keep this post on topic to some degree - nothing about the Disney experience, it's fans or the culture in general makes sense to me. I don't understand the desire. I don't understand the connection. I don't understand the effort and cost people endure to visit. As far as I'm concerned a $400 line skipping pass might as well be a $4000 line skipping pass.
I can't imagine this affects too much. As far as I understand it these days, Disney has so many levels of access to their attractions that it's nuts. You never know who is waiting how long for what...and that's the point, I suppose.
So yeah. A resounding shrug from me.
^ I remember the pay toilets at Conneaut also. I vividly remember the ones between the Wild Mouse and Dodgems having that “feature”. Those were the good old days at Conneaut, when you had to dodge traffic going from ride to ride. Good times!
Just for fun shopping for a Parkhopper with this LL Premier Pass for Sunday, Nov 3rd. I cannot find the option to add LLP to my ticket purchase. I'm thinking maybe you have to purchase the ticket first, and only then can you buy the LLP?
I'll be staying across the street from Disneyland on the 3rd, but since it's for work, I'd have to leave the parks by 1:30, so honestly, this would be a good option if I wanted to visit. What would prevent me is that the airline I work for is so problematic that I'm not even guaranteed to be there for the scheduled overnight. Once I do get to the hotel the night before, it's too late to buy the LLP.
But like I said, I'm just playing around. If I were to visit, I would absolutely go all out and do LLP, but I'd still wait for a day when I have more time.
Is there a restriction for lodging at DLR? I know at WDW you have to stay in a deluxe or DVC to have the privilege of buying LLPP.

Site indicates that the passes are available 2 days before your visit. And you need admission/reservation for everyone in your group for the applicable day linked to your MyDisney account. Does not make reference (that I saw) to specific hotels (or staying at a Disney resort at all).
