Disney maintenance crashed our car at Epcot

Jeff:

Would have been nice if the dip**** actually contacted me first before screenshotting the video.

This is the best.

Totally.

The fact that Jeff just became a story on THE website...

...

...we can all go home now. Good work, everyone!

Rick_UK:

What crazy headline do we think some select websites will use when they report on your footage ?

Credit for the early prediction. I thought I was being Rickrolled when BrettV posted the link.

WTF?? Was the driver blind? How could he not see your wife’s car???

Oops. Glad everyone is okay.

I'll give ITM this much: they got a lot of mileage out of the incident. That article just...kept...going.

That's because they're not articles, they're keyword loaded bodies of text optimized for search engine indexing. And because Google gave up trying to separate it from anything remotely useful, it works. Does resort parking being free really have anything to do with anything? Of course not.

My guess is he was moving the same speed as the the car, he didn't move his head, and the car was behind his A-pillar.

Nah. He was probably distracted.

When there's a stop bar painted on the ground, you stop. That's not difficult math.

Yes. I drive a Toyota Tacoma and I’ve had A pillar visibility issues before. I’ve learned to look carefully before turning or approaching a cross walk in a busy area.

Sucks.

Also, new up charge attraction at Disney, the car crash experience.

I think the cast member driving the truck was probably looking at his phone trying to determine what Genie was recommending he do next on the "Tip Board".

I thought you might want to know... the repair estimate came in at $17k and Progressive called it a total loss. It's just shy of 6-years-old with 61k miles. It's also worth mentioning that the battery capacity currently topped out around 290 miles, and I think it was around 310 when it was new. I bring that up only because of the ignorant "ZOMG have fun replacing the battery LOL" people.

$17000 for a bump to the rear quarter panel? At least that is what it looks like from the videos. Wow.

If you want, you can set your alarm for 7am, book a Genie+ slot and pay for privilege.

But you don't have to, etc.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

It was worse when they took it apart. It even crushed the subwoofer inside, and the door and rear pillar got bent. Plus it's a Tesla, and aluminum, and that all makes the labor more expensive.

6 year old Tesla isn’t work 17k, ouch. Sorry for the loss

Actually it's worth a little more than that (waiting for final number), but whatever the rules are around percentages in Florida consider it a loss.

Yikes - reality is worse than what it looked like on the video.
