I went on hulk. Sure the first half was good but after the vertical loop It was completely boring. It doesn't deserve #1.

...thus demonstrating once again why polls shouldn't be taken as fact. Some people will agree, some won't. Polls are interesting, but don't let them influence your own decisions.

Beast was #1 WOODEN.

#2 is the Real Surprise.

I have been on Hulk several times. While the launch and first couple of inversions are great, I think the overall pacing is rough. I rarely get sick on coasters but this one does me in every time.

CoastaBaby wouldn't even call Hulk her personal #1 steel, despite the fact that it was her first launched looper ever. Of the B&M coasters she's been on so far, it would rank dead last. No fooling a 9 year-old here...

Well, almost. She'd still give the Beast the nod, but she has yet to board a CCI. Give me a month or two to straighten that out.

Their on-line poll is hardly scientific and people can easily ballot-stuff to effect the results. Plain and simple, people, take this poll [and show] with a rather large grain of salt. IMHO the only "valid" polls are Mitch's.

Shaggy, what's the number 2 woodie? White Cyclone?

Mamoosh is right. I seem to remember one of their "polls" in which you could vote hundreds of times by clicking down on the vote button and holding down the enter key. One could theoretically rig their mouse and keyboard so they vote for a specific coaster and with the rigged mouse and keyboard set, walk away for a day or two and put their coaster easily in the lead. Unless some registered polling agency like Zogby is doing the polling, I dont believe it one bit.(and I tend to think they can be off too. They had Bush a clear winner on election day by 5%. Look at what really happened!)

Hulk's not even in my top 10 steelies, and not even my fav in the park (Fire). I love the big green guy (a lot more than SOME folks, LOL...), but he's nothing spectacular beyond the launch and setting. The front half ranks right up there, but I get the feeling that after the Mid-course David Banner returns to deliver a less-than thrilling ending...When the misters are on full, I can't even see after going under the walkway.....but what really detracts from Hulk's rating overall is the "dead-ending"...

I'd put him at about 8-10 on my list of Beemers.....still a great ride and a lot of fun, but there must be some rigging of the ballot to get him to #1....(hey, it IS Florida, after all)...;)

Polls are suppose to be fun, like finding out which movie was #1 at the box office, it doesn't really reflect overall quality.

BTW, am I the only one who found the movie Spiderman to be a major disappointment?

The surprise number two that Shaggy mentioned was a new wooden coaster that tried to copy another ride in the same park. Also, think of the park that holds the world records for tallest, fastest and longest wooden coasters. You should be able to figure it out! I took part in the photo shoot for this ride and got four rides in on it with the cameras rolling!

hehehehe...good one rollergater. I've never been on this coaster, but if it as everyone describes it, it seems to be an average ride....kinda how I felt about Riddler.

You're so contagious, you turn ma pages!

BNest woodie in Japan is by far Regina!!!

-Aska was way too rough and is like the mature twin of Psyclone. Better airtime and although follow the trail of Viper@SFGAm, it still as rough as psyclone.

-Jupiter was pretty good actually, and for being Japan's first wooden coaster, it's kept up nicely. If it was a little more intense it would rank much higher, but overall was a pretty good ride. (similar too Wildcat at Hershey in terms of ride elements and thrill+feeling of the ride)

-White Cyclone, beautiful, with great airtime, but I want more intensity especially with all the big hills and those plethora of helixes. They got to a point where they took away from the ride a little. I men, they can provide some great thrill, but once you got halfway though the second one you're like "Ok, end already." Intiman and RCCA can do a great job on woodies but need some tips from GCI and CCI on laterals and intense transitions.

Sounds like the CoastaBaby is going to be one of the best-educated 9 year olds in the coaster community :)

Vertigo, I wasn't asking for opinions on all the woodies of Japan, but what the number 2 woodie on the poll is. In america, it would most likely be WC since it's sitting right next to the tallest coaster in the world, and would recieve the most attention. Sure, maybe a better one is in a zoo, but it's a little more obscure.

- Peabody

Peabody, I wasn't responding to you. I was expressing my opinion since I've been on the five best woodies in Japan.

It's not a zoo, that's an often referred name to gardens as well. Besides, the park started out as a public gardens with a petting zoo, it's not hardly a zoo anymore. The park is of great size and should not be judged by its name especially if you haven't been to it.
