Deleting Posts!!

Geez...four times in the last 20 min. or so I've posted in a thread only to find out it had been closed in "mid-post." I appreciate the mods nuking all of those ridiculous threads started by the same buzzer; I'm sure anyone who saw them knows what I'm talking about. But other stuff has started to vanish as well...I know it's been a busy week at the controls with "the post" and all, but could we lay off on deletions a bit (one in particular practically got cut in half; why not let it be an example of stuff that doesn't belong)?

No, I'm not trying to tell anyone how to run the site, and I already know who's in charge and who pays the bills and that I'm not a mod. No offense and sorry for those remarks, but I could just see the response coming. What I said is just a request/suggestion.

I think it goes back to
Space = Money...
and for useless topics or threads that are created some 20x times by the same buzzer (sure, they're all different... but not really all that interesting), it just eats away at space... and for all the space that is used on these Pop Forums, it costs the webmasters money... so deleting the useless ones will save for ones that are worthy of discussion.

... at least that's what I can concour from it.

Personally, I'd get peeved at the same person in my web site if he/she posted some 30 topics in one hour.
Good point... I totally agree about the same buzzer posting so much stuff; what I was getting at was other posts that were being deleted besides those (unfortunately I can't remember the threads now). But you're probably right about the whole space and money thing.

You will now notice that there is now an FAQ link on the forums home page. I encourage everyone to read it. Posts that go against these guidelines will most likely get closed and/or deleted.

There is obviously a reason that we are deleting ferenzy. Can you please leave the moderation to the moderators?

...I'm not trying to tell anyone how to run the site...

That's a good thing because the last time I looked, you're not paying anything to use this site. When you start forking over hundreds of dollars to support this site, then you can tell us how to run things.

Someone apparently has some major issues with what I said. But my suggestions were just that, suggestions; I don't think you caught that last sentence in my post. There was no reason at all for you to take any offense to that post or to think I was trying to tell you and the other mods how to run the site. How could I have made that any clearer? I thought I did well to not come off like a jerk (in the first post :)), but apparently I'm not getting through to some folks so I'd appreciate some advice. And please read the reposted last paragraph below; I added some emphasis this time to help out.

"No, I'm not trying to tell anyone how to run the site, and I already know who's in charge and who pays the bills and that I'm not a mod. No offense and sorry for those remarks, but I could just see the response coming. What I said is just a request/suggestion."

Just because I offer a suggestion in this Suggestions for Coasterbuzz forum doesn't mean I'm suddenly accusing you mods of doing a bad job or trying to take over control of the site. I'll assume you won't be dealing with me anymore (you know what I mean), but you need to keep that in mind when you respond to posts. Most if not all members respect Jeff's efforts as well as those of all of you guys, so there's no need to trash someone for simply posting a suggestion, no matter how ridiculous it might be.
