Deja-Vu(SFGAm) opened today: LONG LINE!!

The arguement that season pass holders are responsible for a bulk of park income is false. Most season pass holders spend roughly the cost of two trips to the park for the priveledge of going whenever we please, which often isfour or more times. I'd imagine the average on THIS board would be nearly ten times. We may be responsible for attendance numbers, but that's not where the money rolls.

Again JD, you do not impress me. I doubt that you are any smarter than I am. You may be as smart AS, I dont know, but they dont just give out Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering degress to just anyone. Nor do they admitt 'dumb people' to Masters of Mechanical Engineering programs.

In any case, inciting violence is only an invitation for more violence. If ANYONE has been paying attention to recent world events, that would be blatantly clear. Just be prepared for reprisals.

Rolloplane,

I agree with you with my season pass to SFGAm, I have (or will) visit four different parks in addition to SFGAm over a total of twelve visits.

If you break down my parking pass and season pass costs over those twelve trips, the average cost to get in was less than $8.50 (Early purchase price of  season pass, $78, early purchase season parking pass $24).

Even _IF_, and I did not - I usually bring my meals, I bought food at their inflated prices, I still got in and out of the parks for less than 1/2 admission price.

Redman, you need to buy your passes at 6F:Worlds of Adventure. Through the end of the month the passes are only 50 bucks, and work (as you know) at all the same parks.

True, but I'd spend $60+ in gas going there to buy it from Chicago

I haven't bought a season pass to a Six Flags park because of advance planning time. We usually don't know we're going somewhere until the day before, and while we're there, we don't know when we may come back. Theoretically, if we had bought them, like we almost did, we would have used them one time ans Six Flags would have been happy. The idea of different level admissions is bothersome to me, but like I said before, the parks offer it, you really have nothing to say to the people that are using them. I see that some parks give some out for free, I don't know what I think of that. But, until it stops, and it probaly won't, but as long as it's around, all you can do is stand there and watch. Reading also about seats reserved just for the passes, SFoG had the last two rows of the GASM closed off this spring, with a Lo-Q sign blocking them. I asked what was up, he said what it was for, and I said we want to ride there, so they opened the line up. Really, they don't want us disgruntled or at each others throats.

Cost for food is another issue, my wife's a vegetarian, and I have special dietery needs myself(no beef, pork, or their products) and eating at the park can be difficult. Subway's usually our choice, or I stock up on Burger King ciniminis and munch the better part the day on that. On the other hand, Six Flags knows that if I buy a pass, I might buy a shotglass here or there extra that I really might not had the money for with a regular admission.

As far as language and maturity goes, Star Wars had no foul language, and is one of the most famous movies, and Pulp Fiction has foul language the plenty, but it's no less "smart" because of the language. Granted, there are times and places for correct language and respect, but using foul words do not lesson a person. No coasters in track record, no birthdate, and joined 10/9/2001 is what grabs my attention. Anyways, this seems to have been allowed to happen:(. It's even still open.

Switching back to Deja Vu...

With Deja Vu going, was Demon Running? And, did the train go through the boomorang backwards as slowly as during testing?

The Demon was running without any problems. In fact I was power riding it because it was a walk-on.

The train on DV going backwards into the cobra roll was still crawling through it. It was unbelievable. I can see why that catwalk is there. Another thing by looking up at the train in the cobra roll is the train looks really close to the catwalk . I think that was the factor in making the max height requirement. It looks like peoples feet are going to hit it.

Thanks, Alan, I was going to post your link to FAFL, but you beat me to it!  To those who use and enjoy fastlane, I have nothing against you personally.  However, all rides have a "theoretical maximum capacity", which can never really be achieved...that being said, the only way to get anywhere close to giving out the MAXIMUM number of total rides is to have fast loading/unloading of trains to reduce dispatch times.  "Confounding" issues like Fastlane may get an extra ride or two for those who use them, but at the cost of reducing the TOTAL number of rides available for everyone...

This is how monday turned out...Minimal crowds, Raging Bull's line was 10 minutes or less, same with Batman and Viper. Everthing else was nearly a walk on, V2 was closed, which leaves me with Deja Vu. The line itself is about an hour, or an hour and a half, it goes by pretty fast, especailly if you where expecting a really long wait. Met some cool people who knew about coasters, and had a good conversation with them to make the wait even shorter. The ride is simply amazing. The floating sensation on the 2nd tower is indescribable. All I can say is don't pass Deja Vu up. You're missing much more than you think you are. You will not be dissapointed.

No RollrCoastr00. This past Monday was Colombus day. It was open for Colombus day and it is also open on Friday nights. So if you want to consider that weekdays, then yes, it is open.

I went on friday 10-12-01cand after a jog was able to get the first ride of the day. its a excellant ride but can see from the double checking thats done with the seat belt/harness that the loading/unloading time take awhile. Does anybody know the real reason v2 is still down????

I realize this is just being anal but Star Wars: A New Hope had two foul words in it.  Uncle Owen said hell and Han Solo said "d*mn"

I think it won't be too long until the Fastlane system is removed from SF parks.  People eventually will bring it down I bet.

Jack Daniels 7, by talking the way you have been in this thread you make a bad impression upon yourself for everyone else.  IMO, it DOES sound like you're on steroids and a maybe have had a little too much of you screen name.  Lastly, boasting about your weight, size, and how much you like to fight really shows how much of a wimp you are.

It is something of a general rule of thumb, at least from what I have seen, that those who are tough and can fight do not go around talking about how they can beat people up, and furthermore that people with any kind of real intelligence do not come on computer forums and threaten people with violence.  As for the actual topic here, the one day i came back it was the 6th and of course that was when they had Deja Vu closed all day.  I am going to try again at the end of october and hopefully will have better luck.  If they let people ride fastlane when deja vu is open i think that will be a travesty, considering the low capacity and how long they have delayed the opening and how much anticipation there has been towards the ride, to make the line even longer after all these months would be just plain wrong.  The fastlane policy can be a good one when run right, but until SF learns how to do that they need to let it go.
V^2 is down probably because it costs to much to keep it up.. LIM's by design are extremely ineffecient when it comes to power.. you are basicly creating a magnetic charge and only using 1/4th of it on each launch..

Also they don't have much staff this part of the year, and so at least 1 of the old teams has to fill Deja Vu's role (thats the Raging bull team I believe), and then someone has to replace the RB team..

V^2 breaks down alot too.. :)

That's an interesting take on things.  I'll go one thing at a time:
v2 is too costly to run:  There are two other identical rides (S:UE and another v2) which are both still running, so the whole cost thing is crazy.
no staffing:  Now first do you REALLY think that if six flags was short on staff that they would close down a NEW ride like v2?  Ummm no...they'd close down a ride that is much less high profile.  And you're whole analysis about how the Raging Bull crew went to Deja Vu and all that crap is ridiculous.  Deja Vu has its OWN crew just like every other ride.

I have a feeling there's a backstory between the beef between 2Hostyl and JD0N7. Personally knowing 2Hostyl, I know he doesn't smoke. JD0N7, you need to calm down. Threatening people with physical violence, especially someone I consider a friend, is extremely uncool. This is a discussion site of roller coasters and other themepark attractions, not WWF wrestling!
