My vote goes to son of beast.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

^My vote goes to KD's hurler....why did I waste two & a half minutes of my life riding it back on saturday when I knew from previous experience just how painful that thing is?

Did anyone else read everything there. It was really disturbing how they would put a record over a ride beating the crap out of its riders. If you dont feel like reading everything the last little article will say everything.

Of course, *you* can make any coaster you want as deadly as you want...perfect example, ride Magnum at CP with no seatbelt and lap bar up (and no trims too) and talk about legitimate "ejector" airtime as you fly into Soak City (same with Voyage at HW).

Just like with Tony Montana, "it's your world"!!

And neither of them coasters you would come out of as long as you were seated correctly in the first place. Bout the only non looping coasters I've ridden that would cruelly eject you without restraints are the intamins and the Gerslauers

I rode KD Hurler yesterday...yeah, it was rough...but what was just a little bit more rough was the Grizzly...especially going through the tunnel...wow...i had a headache after that ride

I got it and it was hilalrious but there are versions of single track coasters that have switch out tracks like Mr. Freeze.

Chuck

It doesn't qualify since it no longer exists, but I'd vote for Hercules. Most of its riders were bored to death. :)
I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the Granddaddy of them all:

THE CRYSTAL BEACH CYCLONE!

I was watching the Documentary "America Screams" with a friend and my Mother took a peek to see what we were up to right when they showed the footage of that Coaster. She immediately shouted: "OH GOD! I RODE THAT THING!" She did not exoect our reply: "WHAT WAS IT LIKE!!!" :)

Answer my Prayers, Overbook my next Flight!

The previous articles state the ride design was originally altered to out-do Mean Streak. That said, and having never been on the Rattler, which has a more "out of control feeling" ride experience, and which is currently more painful? That is, for those who have ridden both.

Rattler is in my opinion. Mean Streak goes to slow to cause any serious discomfort.

Bolliger/Mabillard for President in '08 NOT Dinn/Summers

Rattler sure has an interesting history, I wonder if it's still knocking heads as bad as when it opened. I watched POVs from this year and opening year yesterday and the ride looked crazy then, but it appeared that sections did not even line up correctly, oops.
It actually wasnt to bad this year when I rode, I thought Texas Giant was way worse but Rattler seriously Rattles you.

Bolliger/Mabillard for President in '08 NOT Dinn/Summers

I dare anyone to find a large RCCA or Summers/Dinn wood coaster of any value.

Gravity Group and Intamin (plug-&-play) seem to have the large wooden coaster thing down. Why didn't the others get it?

coastin' since 1985

Because they learned from their predecessors' mistakes? It's like asking why the Wright Brothers didn't build airplanes as well as Boeing.
^^If Holiday World didnt take care of The Voyage dont you think it would turn into a Dinn disaster.

Bolliger/Mabillard for President in '08 NOT Dinn/Summers

It's more than maintenance. Those big coasters just didn't do a whole lot interesting.

And as for timing, John Miller was building great coasters way before Summer/Dinn and RCCA. So what does that tell you?

coastin' since 1985

Tells me he wasn't building them at record-setting heights. Blue Streak at Woodside held the height record for how many years?

Personally Flight of Fear (before they switched to lapbars) wasn't the deadliest but I thought I was going to die during my last ride with the OTSR's.

Son of Beast hasn't claimed any lives but it's caused a lot of injuries!

I used to think the Cyclone at Williams Grove was going to collapse/run off the track a couple of times.
