mralpengeist, I was very much like you are now. "just another boomerang", maybe a little bit bigger, no? YOU HAVE NO IDEA. This is unlike any boomerang or shuttle coaster for that matter. The GIB coasters are unbelievable, above all expectations and anyone who has ridden one will tell you exactly so. So don't judge by looks. You obviously can't make that comment on really how good or bad it is. But I can. And let me tell, you - WILD.

Let me tell ya, Deja vu' rocks! The 1st time I rode it I was blown away about the whole experience. My only complaint?  The ride was too short.

Well, I've ridden one and I can honestly say that Deja Vu is one of the worst coasters I've been on, hands down.  It's slower than heck through the inversions and it's rough.  Boring too.  The best thing about the ride is the vertical drop, but even that is weak imo.  I'll take Vertical Velocity or X over Deja Vu any day of the week.  Of course, this is just my opinion, but a lot of the people I've talked with after their rides have shared it.  I guess it's just the person, but I for one think the Super Boomers are crap.  Just my opinion.

i had the same exact expirience. after i rode it the first time which was also in the front row, i was shaking for ten munutes. amazing. the second tower is perfection. it is also the smoothest looping coaster i have been on. it is up there with MF Montu DD Raging Bull and Hulk for me. they are all on the same level. and for most of the season too i had the same view. i had already been on a boomerang and an invertigo so i thought i knew what to expect. WRONG!!!!!!! I was amazed. you can really tell ho much bigger this thing is. not even MF has 7 drops over 100 ft

The Vu's are incredible.  Smooth, frantically paced, disorienting, and the vertical towers are just plain wacky.  What's not to love?
Coasterman J, I think they designed it to go through the inversions slowly.  The faster you go through an inversion, the more positive verticle, and lateral g's you will experience.  No one wants to get banged up, thats the idea.

Hello God? Oops, that's just a moderator.
In answer to this post I would expect it to be open for opening day, May 4th, for the buyouts that's a different question. I think it is a good ride. When I rode it I do not remember it being rough.  My favorite, no, but it you do have to admit even if you don't like the ride, it does bring variety to the park.

FoF:

Have you ridden one?  And when did i say that the rest of the invertgo's weren't smooth?

Idle hands were orient to her.

The only Deja Vu that I've heard bad reviews on is SFMM's...what's the deal?

Justin said it sucks.

Robb said it sucks.

Elissa said it sucks.

Sean [basically] said it sucks.

Why was SFoG's so awesome?  I have also heard nothing but great things from SFGAm's.  Is SFMM's cursed or something?

If I remember correctly, but didnt Deja Vu at Six Flags Great America when it opened up got excellent and out standing reviews?

I am not sure what time the show is on anymore, I have it alot of episodes on tape somewhere.
And Deja Vu is an awesome ride.  I worked the one at SFGAm when it was open.

Granted, but to me that just spells bad engineering.  I mean, when you take a B&M loop at high speeds, there isn't too much headbanging going on.  Why is it that Vekoma has to slow down their inversions to reduce the headbanging?  Because it's a badly engineered ride.  The Deja Vu's are testament to that imo.  Not only is it a badly engineered ride, but the train design is TERRIBLE.  A female friend of mine who isn't very tall had to use all of her neck strength to keep her throat from being crushed by that stupid bar across the restraints, not to mention the way the seats are set up.  Badly done imo.  Badly done.

-----------------

I personally disliked almost every thing about the ride also, not only do you get seperated by the guest you are riding with (if you get the outer seats) but the only thrilling part of the ride was the first vertical drop. I wasn't expecting much and I didn't get much, typical Vekoma. I personally would have kept skywhirl over it.

Its fascinating how opinions come in groups.  The biggest reaction to the Vu's has been overwhelmingly positive for the most part...and then you get this thread with lots of people that dislike them.  I don't have an explanation, its just weird.  Like when I was looking for people to give me the scoop on Wild Thing and everybody was so positive about it.  lol
Coasterman - A loop would put vertical g's on you, vertical g's don't cause nearly any headbanging.  Lateral g's are what cause headbanging, and the faster you go into, say a cobra roll (or butterfly turn) or corkscrew, or anything that involves turning the train, you will get lateral g's.
High Lateral g's + OTSR = Headbanging
All I am saying is that in this case, Vekoma made the inversion at a low speed to avoid this situation, which is what a good coaster manufacturer would do.

I would like to add my voice and say that I thought the ride was excellent -- definitely above expectations.  Maybe the one at SFGam is smoother because it's been used less.  In any event, I think the beginning of the ride is particularly oustanding and I'd give the ride as a whole a slight edge over V2.  Those that rode it with me had the same basic opinion.

That's cause Wild Thing Rawks! ;)  Seriously though, I think it just goes to prove that people have varied opinions on things.
