Currently traveling to every major park in the country. Advice

A decade ago a trip like that would have sounded like a dream come true for me. But after an 11 hour day at Cedar Point on Sunday, I couldn't wait to not be in a park on Monday. And living right in between Disney and Universal, the low number of visits I make a year would appall my younger enthusiast self. But that's how life goes I guess.

I've been to all Six Flags, all Disney, All SWO/BG, All Cedar Fair save Valley Fair and most of the independents. My conclusion after 15 years of this hobby - the rides and especially the height, speed, or number of laps matter SO much less than the people. I've had way more fun at SFoT on the mini-mine train with my son than on NTG by myself. I honestly don't think I've ridden Titan, Freeze, Batman or S:ToP in my last 20 trips to the park (about 2 years).

There are 45 amusement parks in the United States that have at least 5 roller coasters. It would be nearly impossible to visit all of those parks in one year.

It may be near impossible but we are sure as hell going to try. Im also not visiting any parks without a major coaster since thats our primary draw. We've got 365 days and all the time in the world. We've got a real shot at it. Obviously people have been to every park but I have yet to find someone that has documented all the major parks in a short time frame which is what we are hoping to do.

Come on guys. This is obviously a total fake. He's got a hot girlfriend. There's no way he's a coaster nerd....

Lol im not even sure how to respond to this. Ive been trying to do this for years. We are finally in a position to make it happen. Just knocked out Indiana Beach. Up next is Michigan adventures, kentucky kingdom and holiday world. All 3 will be our first time.

People have done definitely X parks in X amount of time blogs over the years. I remember reading them. I think they tend to disappear because there's not a lot of longevity there. Once the trek is over, it's done and forgotten. Doesn't make it any less cool, just a reality of the situation.

Weren't there a couple of 50 coasters in 24 hours or 75 coasters in 24 hours or something like that done in the early 00's?

This guy has a great site. Well done.

We dicedied to move forward with this. She just purchased our domain name and we are going to convert my youtube page over to this coaster stuff when I return home from traveling. We are a very unorthodox group that are defiantly not going to be everyone's cup of tea. But I feel we can put a new twist on something that may have been done several times before. I'll have plenty of time to work on this while driving and flying so we should have no problem keeping it up to date.

Honestly, we just want to setup something where people who are both coaster nuts and regular once a year visitors can go to and see how our personal experience went. Unbiased, unfiltered, in your face, as real as it gets. After visiting cedar point many, many times every year for the past 35yrs I noticed that a lot of people just assume this is the best place on earth, no question, no arguing. Everything they do is perfect.. And that very well may be true. But as I started traveling around the world more and more over the past few years I realized that they are not #1 in every category. Are they the best park on the planet? Probably, but we want to try and go everywhere and rate these places in several categories that I'm pretty sure have not been done before. Plus, to be very blunt and honest the girl is pretty decent looking, knows more about coasters and parks than the majority of people out there and has done plenty of work with local television. The video reviews will be a nice on the eyes.. Like I said previously, we are already traveling to all these places. We are already documenting it. May as well launch a site and share the journey. If it takes off.. Awesome! If not, it's not going to take away from our journey! :)

As soon as we return home from our latest trip she is going to join here. We will get our premium subscription and get the ball rolling on this. We are on park #15 Not rushing at any of these places either. Spending 1-2 days at each park taking it all in. I may jinx myself here but we have yet to encounter a single day of rain.
