Oh Lord, I have been hre for over a year (different nick).
The fact of the matter is the moderation of worthless argumentative topics is what keeps me coming back for more. Having used other boards relating to racing, cars, trains, and roller coasters. This one sands head and shoulders above all the rest becuase there are no stupid NM posts or people comunicating threads IE Hey Jeff (That's what Email is for) Or threads that have no point other then sarting a pissing match between people.
The format of this forum provides well thought out concise disscussion that stays on topic. That is what makes it so great.
BTW The whole CP bias thing is crap. If you ae a Six Flags Sult or a Cedar Fair Whore so be it, but you will notice the more inteligent posters could care less one way or another anyway. It's all roller coasters who cares where they are or if they happen to be the same as another roller coaster 300 miles away.
OK I have vented

In said B&M thread, I counted two people who thought it was "silly" or "stupid." So what? If I thought it was a stupid topic, it would've been deleted or closed.
If you allow constant rumor threads, you have [insert other coaster forum here]. Those forums become entirely consumed with what's next, who is building what, what the Lemon Chill Guy™ guy said, or whatever. Those are actually nothing but wish lists, not rumors based on any real fact. They're a waste of time in light of the hundreds of rides and parks available today that we can talk about and relate to. Trust me... after this many years I can attribute growth and member retainment to just this policy.
As for "versus" thread, many of the same things apply. It's a little harder to describe what it allowed and what isn't though, there's no clear definition. However, if it's something like "CP vs. SFMM," you know it's going to go away.
So there is plenty of "buzz" to talk about right this very moment. Even if there were fewer topics, the rule of thumb is that less is often more. Post counts, whether it's for the forum as a whole or individual members, is terribly pointless.
