Did anyone just see the new episode of Mindfreak where Criss Angel gets hit by Canyon Blaster? It was a really neat trick I'm wondering how he did it myself. For those who missed it the train passed through him as he stood between 2 sheets right before the corkscrew. The catch is though that after it passed through the corkscrew and they lowered the sheets he was gone and could be seen riding the coaster. It was all a continuous cam and pretty cool. The only thing that bothered me was the whole episode he kept stating that it went 70 when according to rcdb it goes 41. *** Edited 8/29/2007 2:53:29 AM UTC by OP AWESOME***
Well Criss Angel is definately off but, I believe RCDB might be wrong on this one too. 41 MPH didn't sound right. Most of the corkscrew coasters go between 50 and 55 MPH. According to the Adventure Dome web site, Canyon Blaster reaches a top speed of 55MPH.
LOL! Gonch. I was thinking the same. ;) I can just see someone in the audience in the middle of the show "Uh, excuse me Mr. Angel! Canyon Blaster goes 41 MPH, not 70!" ;)
I love Criss Angel. I was wanting to see that episode last night. I will have to watch it elsewhere. :)

But in his mind, I'm sure he was going at least 70! :)
After having seen David Copperfield live, nothing good illusionists can do amazes me.
Hey, maybe he'll make Geauga Lake Disappear! ;) *** Edited 8/29/2007 12:43:48 PM UTC by FLYINGSCOOTER***
I would like to see him actually do this stunt on a coaster that hits anywhere between 70 to 120mph. This way he can actually know what a high speed coaster is. Canyon Blaster is little on the small side for that stunt.
I used to think Chris did some pretty amazing stuff.
Then I started looking on the net, and come to find out most of what he does is not him at all. It is camera or edting tricks. The audience is mostly staged because they are in on the camera tricks to pull it off.
So enjoy it as it is and don't research or you will take the fun away. I will stick to live magic where I know the illusionist is skilled and well trained to pull it off, oppossed to editing called magic.
I haven't seen it yet, but it's in my queue... Anyone remember who it was that chained themselves to Desparado at Buffalo Bill's in an attempt to "escape"? Remember his comment after doing so? "That was stupid..." *** Edited 8/29/2007 2:03:50 PM UTC by jshorerzd***
I just watched the lance burton video and to me he is a fraud. He should have had someone independent of his crew pat him down for tools like that and to make sure that everything was on the up and up. Canyon Blaster's top speed is 41mph according to the rcdb.com site.
IT was funny as hell hearing Criss spew out that the Canyon Blaster ran at 70mph. There isn't much room in the adventuredome for a coaster to get above 50mph.
Well just to be clearer, sure they all use tricks! That is fine! Just be a skilled illusionist and make me ah watching you in person! Great Trick.
Do Not use precorded clips patched together and edited to make it look like something you did not do, then sell it as a live ...really happening in front of a live audience effect.
