And here's Xcelerator with it's own "nobody got killed during construction" icon -
I have never heard of this nor seen this done in Texas before. This is news to me. How do they expect a tree to stay up 400 feet in the air?

I always thought they put the tree up because it is Christmas too?!? They didn't put a tree up on Chang when it was topped off (which was Janurary), they didn't put a tree on Xcel either by looking at that above pic. I'm also pretty sure Mantis didn't have a tree on its lift which was topped after Christmas. I do know that Raptor had a tree on its lift though.
Is this because it was safe, or just because of Christmas? I always thought it was like the present under the tree sort of thing.

They use rubber bands of course!!! and if that dont, sticky tape!!!!!!
A X-mas tree or flag on top of a ride show's the ride(or buildding) has been topped off, its a very old practice you can have either one or both. Here is a link that will explain and help clear up all the confussion.

FYI... Actually, none of those are Scripps owned stations. I know because I work for Scripps.
Wrong. WEWS is a Scripps station:

The others are not, but all use the same software for their sites and share content:
