CP's construction cam

Whole thread on this subject at GTTP in the area 51 section. Makes some good points and some decent reading (as well as a math/physics lesson).

Of special interest, the post by Mach1 on page 5 of the thread. Just about the most thought out of all the speculation. Plus it's rooted in fact and stats.

Dorney Park visits in 2002: 19

If the tower is already 320', then it already broke the full-circuit height record, like a real roller coaster!
How come the new ride doesn't have the two support towers like Xcellerator? Is it because it's gonna be taller?

You can hear the laughter, you can hear the mighty roar. From the brickyard down in Indy to the white Chicago shore. It's a rollin', twistin', turnin' and might we both suggest. You get you fanny ridin' on the Cornball Express!

Looking at the photo brian had it looks like Millenium Force is like 340. So I believe that Power Tower is a little off I think it is more like 280.

Wha? Power Tower IS 300 feet. The reason I used that photo is because the tower for 16 and PT are almost lined up (if you looked at PT from the main entrance gate, #16 is almost lined up right behind it).

Millennium Force looks taller because it is in the foreground, closer to the camera, #16 and Power Tower are a couple thousand feet behind it.

WT, have you ever heard of perspective, how far back is PT from MF? A lot, you can make a 10 foot pole look the same hieght as a pencil if you look right, PT is 301.25 feet tall exactly..

Rctycoon2k (who knows what hes talking about, and likes to correct people)

Today on the webcams it looks as if the twists are being constructed. Maybe it's just me. Kinda hard to see.

Anyone?

The twists were started a while ago, they are just adding on to them today.

Also, section #7 is going up right now http://www.cedarpoint.com/_cpcam/cam3_0000000001.jpg

This is going to be the most insane ride ever built.

I'm going to safely assume that these two cranes will be going away soon and another taller one will be coming to top it off? Or are they going to add to the cranes and make them one mammoth of a lifting device? Looking at that last picture the crane is barely taller than that last support pole.
This so much looks like a ride that will make S_TE at SFMM a yesterday's tomorrow. WOW... strange how they're both Intamin.
Although... I must say I like the cars of S_TE. To bad they can only go on straight tracks.
I wonder how the small nylon (or whatever they're made off) wheels on the Intamin trains are going to take the heat of all that speed...
Is this thing really going to work?

no, superman, its not going to work, its just some landscaping they just thought would look good in the middle of the park.

Rctycoon2k (wow, some people...)

New daring coasters have failed before.

Today's fact was brought to u by the letter X...;)

why wouldn't it work, if worse comes to worse, LSM's or LIM's can replace the hydrolic (sp?) launch, if something were not to work, this is using the same principal as Xcelerator, just with a little variation on the launch (take my word). It will work, gauranteed...

TOGO!

These construction cams are to far away and too blurry... !!

They are blurry because it has been raining/sleeting all morning. We got about 3-4 inches of snow here in Toledo so it will probably be in Sandusky soon.
