CP's billboards need to improve.

So what you're saying is that you want the park to be more croweded when you visit? ;)

Reverse psychology Moosh.

Get more people to not visit SFGAm thus shorter lines for me. ;)

Translation: "Well no park is (known around the world) but when you have a name like Cedar Point- America's Roller Coast, come on."

Sometimes, I ask myself "why?" ;)

"Known around the world" is a pretty broad statement. Heck, by virtue of the fact that I post on the internet I'm known around the world!

That's true, very true. But hey. I'm just the translator! :)

...and they *still* don't like you in TX?....;)
I like the slogan, but I think they need a pic of TTD on it with Snoopy next to it, or something like that. A plain one colored billboard isn't going to get much attention.

I've been wondering why they didn't have a phrase like "fly like Superman at Great America" on there or something.

SFGAm has been doing a lot of promo stuff in my area (South Central Wis-cow-sin). Heck, they even were selling discount tickets at our plant entrance for a couple of days. Everything I've seen so far, although not billboards, has the tag line,

"Now Man Can Fly!"

That's something. I'm sure the TV and other promos are doing a better jorb... i mean job, of highlighting the whole "flight" aspect. After seeing the poor layout of the billboards, I thought back to the "artist's rendition" of B:TR when it first opened. Unrealistic (looked like people were riding a ski-lift), but it clearly got the point across how this ride was different from traditional coasters.

Moosh, I know plenty of people not from the midwest that know of CP and arent enthusists. You can thank the Discovery Channel Infomercials for that, if you say Cedar Point to most people (at least my age, early 20s) they will say that park with the huge rollercoaster (refering to MF cause that was the peak year of TV shows/news specials). Ditto for SFMM, most people imidiatly think of Superman and 100 mph.

I live in the Detroit area and there is one of the billboards with the tophat in outer space. I believe it says something like: Top Thrill Dragster, the tallest, fastest roller coaster in the world. It doesn't seem like a bad advertisment to me.

If you don't like the ride shut up and get out of line.

I saw one at downtown Cleveland, it was a pretty big one, it was blue and had TTD 420, MF 310, Magnum 205, and Gemini 172 or somthing like that, but it had all of those coasters next to each other with their name and height.
Personally, when I see a Snoopy Billboard, I get a rise in my pants. I honestly don't know what everyone is complaining about here......

The downtown Cleveland wallscape is pretty cool, and it's over one of my favorite places to tie one on downtown.

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

Would you rather have CP put 25 mill a year into billboards or rides?
The first time I saw the Millenium Force Commercial I nearly wet myself, and I am from Sandusky. I thought after that the park advertising was on the upswing but it never materialized. They have some brilliant people in P&D who I am sure could make some kick ass promos if they where allowed.
I don't think Chitown's adequately explaining the situation, here...

Picture this: you're driving on a light-grey expressway, with light buildings all around, and (more often than not) a slightly overcast sky for a backdrop. CP's billboard is pure white-grey, with the CP logo, a picture of Snoopy, and some small words to break things up. Now, there's nothing wrong with CP's logo: Except that it just looks like a blue blob unless you read it. And there's nothing wrong with Snoopy: Except that he virtualy disapears, as he's a white character on a white background. And there's nothing wrong with using smaller words on billboards: Except that there's nothing on this particular billboard to catch your eye and make you want to read them.

Bottom line: I'm a coaster enthusiasts, and I totally missed this add the first seven times or so I rode past it. Frankly, I think this particular billboard is rather ill-concieved as a draw for people who are unfamiliar with CP.

On the other hand, they might just want to remind peopel about the place: Contrary to popular belief, the majority of the GP around here have at least heard of CP, and most actually know at least a littel about it.
