Hello Coaster Fans Who Are Getting Ready To Enjoy The Last Weekend Of Shows For Almost All Theme Parks,
While driving to get some food early this morning, I was listening to the radio when something intrigued me. I got the second half of a statement from CP. They were talking about the new Castaway Bay and hyping it up. BUT the big thing that caught me was that they said CP WILL be building a new ride for 2005!
What it is, they didn't say, just said announcement coming soon. No mention of it's a flat, coaster, or what. Just that a new ride for 2005 is coming.
There are so many CP rumors, I don't know how anyone can be sure. The two most persistant seem to be the flyer and the giant frisbee. There was also one that said CP would have 2 new coasters next year including a new kiddie coaster. Right now I think we have to wait for some delivery or more announcements before we really know anything.
I really doubt they're going to get yet another coaster.
For the past umpteen years, they've been catering to the thrill crowd, which is good in & of itself... but the park really lacks in flats... both quality & quantity. Cedar Point needs a number of new flats to help cater to those we really would rather ride spin & pukes than the high-thrill rollercoasters.
A coaster isn't bad... but it really doesn't help the family crowd, and that's their biggest asset, since they tend to spend the most money at the park.
I sincerely hope it's a few flats... giant, mondial, or otherwise.

Yeah, Cedar Point staff doesn't get a memo for future attractions until it's actually anounced. The only staff that now what Cedar Point will get next is the board, and the planning department. *** Edited 8/21/2004 9:51:41 PM UTC by MetroJim***
Aren't they getting a Giant Frisbee themed to breakfast? The Frisbee itself will obviously be a waffle of course and it will lure guest in with the smell of hot bacon, maple syrup, and best of all, the all-you-can-eat gravy buffet next to it. That's the memo I got.
If the restraints were sausage links, CP would spend a lot of money on sausage. I know I'd eat the restraints and be full rather then be safe. +Danny, the memo was about a meeting to discuss the Frisbee. The meeting was to take place during breakfast. You got mixed up somewhere. . . :-D
