I think we all agree that there is ALWAYS room for a new coaster. Besides if CP does not build a new one for 2001, another park will see the opening for THAT world record. The media will lap up that noise like a dog laps up water when it's got a mouth full of Corn-nuts. If CP wants #15 though, I say, go for it.
As for which type, I would vote for a woodie. If they were looking for a record to break (and who isn't these days) maybe longest track in the world? (I am a huge Beast fan, but...) I hope to make my first trip to CP this August, maybe then I can have more informed desitions about the place.

Gotta ride 'em all!
A Ghost Rider clone as part of a new boardwalk would be very nice, though maybe with a bit more height to keep up with the neighbors.

Six Flags America IS a Six Flags park!

It might be cool if they moved a coaster. Is the coaster at Idora Park in useable condition? There might be room for a relocated coaster behind the Mean Streak.
Seems we are missing a post somewhere...but hey, no one's reading all of these great ideas anyways... I found some interesting rumors of CP on Thrillride.com. They say that the boardwalk issue is NOT an issue. They may not do it at all, but who knows for sure. A cyclone replica on a boardwalk would make a great addition and keep costs of building down, too. How much did Batman: KR cost at SFO anyhow?? How much did the Villian cost?? Any one know ??

There's nothing like a woodie...
I know for sure.
Mark my words: Oceana, the aquarium and Coral Courtyard are history after this year.

That's GREAT news!!! Is Ocean Motion gone or moved, too? Wow, insider info is where it's at!

There's nothing like a woodie...
woody SFO 4 new coaster (can't forget roadrunner express) total was 40 million, or so they said.
-------------
Closing Time: 5:30
CP Arrival Time: 5:50
Whose Line is it Anyway?
over 40 million at this point, but that includes all of the stand renovations, new stands and other incedentals.
CP should get a out and back CCI Woodie next. Granted I haven't been on a CCI.. Earlier I probably thought a floorless but, I'm kinda tired of B&Ms for a while. They're cool but kinda too similar to each other. I'm worried the floorless would be too much like Mantis. After riding MF I think CP could use another out and back type ride with hills and wicked laterals. A nice rough woodie should be great.

Jeff...I'm sure we will be basking in Millennium Force's glory for a while...I mean, We've been basking in Magnum's glory fo 10 years!!!!
A woodie would be nice, and is probably the logical choise. With Millennium Force out, those who like steel coasters will be satisified for a while. A woodie would fit in perfect in the time frame right now. Just make sure it's the best out there.
i would mind seeing a floorless coaster the same caliber as a MF though. Really expensive though. Maybe not floorless, maybe like a corkscrew, only in a gigacoaster version.
Sorry, those are just some random thoughts.
Hey DirtyVern, you are out of your mind. I think the Raptor will cover CP for inverted coasters for a LONG, LONG time.
I agree with Craig, the Raptor will cover the Inverts for quite a while. Intensity: on the last helix, check to see if your lungs are going to Sandusky as your body is heading out to Put-in-Bay. I know that's the intensity that I need on a coaster.
Since I posted this one week ago, the traditionalists are out in 'force'.
Wood Coaster 15, Steel Coaster 1.
Every Coaster that has been built in the last 11 years (excluding Woodstock Express) has broken a record or "first" of something, am I correct?? What can they do to keep the streak alive?? Or should they build a great coaster like the Villian and be happy with it?? I know I would be very happy with it...
4 more days until I feel the Force.

There's nothing like a woodie...
Actually, I was at CP 5/23 and 5/24 and took my 3 year old son on the woodstock express and they claimed that it is the world's tallest "kiddie coaster". Just thought I'd pass it on. I would love to try a cat and mouse coaster.
CP desparately NEEDS a woodie with more TOTAL(of all the hills combined) airtime than Shivering Timbers with the world's STEEPEST first drop(on a woodie!!!) AND screw the PTC,GCI or Gerstlaurer(sp?) train and use the BRAND NEW Vekoma trains that Six Flags Hollands has on their woodie!!!!!!!I've heard reports that they are the most comfortable trains with the "perfect lap bar" according to the "reporter"!!!!

They need a good CCI woodie like Shivering Timbers at Michigan Adventures. That would be awesome!

For someone who has never been in a Vekoma wood train, you sure are pretty confident they're good trains. I'm perfectly happy with the Gerstlauers, as they're a vast improvement over the PTC design.

You know these things cost "Money" especially if you are "Learning to Fly" so that you don't hit "The Wall". I enjoy a good coaster that makes me feel "Comfortably Numb."
We should try to experience such animals before saying that CP should get these trains. Heck, I just can't wait to ride the Villian so that I can check out what Jeff is saying about the trains...and the ride itself...
Wood Coasters 18, Steel Coasters 2

There's nothing like a woodie...
Jeff is definately right...The villains trains are the best i have ever rode in!!!
Are they any better than Twisted Sisters trains? Those trains seemed smaller than PTC! BTW what happened to my post"To anyone who has been to Six Flags Holland? I'd appreciate it if no one removes my post especailly if its coaster related!!
