CP needs more woodies

What, Brent you dont like being tossed forward out of your seat on first drops?

I would have to say the CF only owns three Woodies that haven't been nueterd yet! And as for SOB, it is just that and a mean one too.

My guesses would be: ST, GR, and...Blue Streak? Timber Wolf?

Doesn't this topic come up every coupla weeks. And isn't the answer to it (and millions of other topics) always: "Park managment (sp?) knows how to run a park a lot better than you do"?

GET RID OF MEAN STREAK...GET RID OF MEAN STREAK

Tip from Patrick:

They day they do, the same people crying about it being there are going to be crying about it leaving. Lets leave the descisions to the parks, and deal with them. After all, they don't really care what .05 percent of their attendants think (meaning enthusiasts).

I just want to go on record and say that I'm proud of Moosh for not highjacking a topic like one with this title. :)

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

Mike, Thanks for starting this thread. I'm glad you understood what I said to you about CP. Now for the rest of you who don't know what was said about Cedar Point's lack of wood, here's my problem. I have issues with a park that markets itself as America's rollercoast and only has two mediocre woodies out of 16 total coasters. Not only that, but most people (GP) that I run into compare everything to Mean Streak, not Blue Streak which is a decent ride minus all the retrofits. So people begin making assumptions about ALL wooden coasters because CP is the holy grail for rollercoasters. They assume that since it's the biggest park with the most coasters, their woodies are the best which most of us know isn't true. This misconception about wooden rides really bothers me when I realize that CP is driving the image of the classic wooden coaster into the ground when people think that way.

Before you all jump on me for knocking Cement Point (sorry), let me say that it is a beautiful park with the absolute best skyline around. It also has a freindly staff, and is run by nice people (Janice, Brian, Robin, D Kinzel etc.). I love Magnum, Raptor, MF, TTD for what they are, (metal rides), it's just that they're missing the point with wood. That doesn't seem right to me.

A random Mooshter's Dawntionary listing: Oyster [n.] a person who sprinkles his conversation with Yiddish expressions.

The mean Streak has always been a rough coaster I rode it the first day it opened and I still had bruises two weeks later. The problem with Woodies like MS is they try and make them twist like a steelie and if they would just make them with lots of airtime and a couple of good turns they'd be great but I rode the Cheetah in Wild adventures and the Gwanzi in BGTB and they were teh same thing rough as all get out and not even that good on air. Give me a good Double out and back anyday.

I will agree with the original poster on this one They need to build a recocord breaking woodie that is more along the lines of the classical styling.

I think that you other people are getting the thought that me and some other people are against steel or think woodies are the best. Well that's not the what we're trying to prove. We are trying to say for abn amusement park like CP they need more wood. I love almost all types of coasters, but I think that CP would benifit from having more woodies. And will Jeff come and close this because it isn't even close to the point that I put it on for.

I agree, I thought this was the no spin zone.
No, no. That's the Fox News Channel. ;)

Hahaha. Okay, sorry. I couldn't help but laugh at the thought of that.

I am stereotypical.

Hmmm. I was just at IB two weeks ago and could have sworn that Cornball Express was a woodie.
