Controversial banner ad

I don't know if you know this, but there is a banner ad I saw that doesn't seem to fit this site, because you (Jeff) want this to be a family site. It didn't have any company name on it, all I know is what it said. It said "Seeking M/F 35-49 single/married for short term relationship" as if it were a news paper personal. I don't know, but that just doesn't seem to fit in this site, and with the problems you've been having with pop-up ads, I thought maybe this is something that slipped by, also.
If I see it again, I'll give you the link to where it goes if you think that will help.

And if that kind of banner is ok with you, sorry to bother you.

Do your own homework!
Does it have a sexual theme? I personally don't see anything wrong with the ad you stated...

It's an ad for a survey, and there's nothing sexual about it.

BrandonR, it obviously does. "Singe/Married" sure sounds like an affair situation to me. Let's just go around promoting adultery to 13 year olds. I think not.

The following statement is true.
The preceding statement is false.
Compressed Airhead has the right idea, thats why I posted it. If it's a family-friendly site, I don't think that adultery fits in anywhere here.

Hey, SFGAm managment, can I buy a couple cages of Sky Whirl?
There was a banner ad that said "Nude URLs." It quickly caught my eye.

The ad is completely benign. It's looking for people 35 to 49 to answer a survey. Really, if you find that offensive, perhaps you'd best turn the computer off and never logon again. There are far worse things to worry about on the Internet.

Yeah, at the time of my posting, I didn't know it was for a survey.

I just saw it, and there's nothing wrong with it. Unless your against relationships! Gasp.

While we are considered a family site, I really dont think everything here has to be rated "G". We can sprinkle in the "PG-13" format once in awhile.

Chitowns 6 year old daughter says "Daddy, Dippin Dots are nasty!!" I must say that I agree!!
A few months ago CB on my browser suffered an 'invasion' of ads for XXX-rated sites for a few weeks. I ignored them thinking that the mods would notice them & it would be fixed, nothing & assumed it to be a bug or parasite ads that fixed themselves onto CB.

Any explanation(s) for this?

Wrong... there were NEVER "XXX" ads on CoasterBuzz. It didn't happen. DoubleClick does not server porn ads, period.

Boy, TRBiggar, if you consider a newspaper personal ad to be sexually suggestive and it doesn't fit in with the "family" direction of this site you've got another thing coming. I get the plain dealer at 6:00 every Sunday and personal ads such as the ones you described fill an entire two pages. Now, a 7 year old could pick up the paper an read these, but does anyone care? The answer is no, because personal ads are for adults seeking relationships, they aren't sexually explicit. Besides, last time I checked the minimum age for this site was 13, now if memory serves me correctly in 1997 any 13 year old could pay six dollars to see bare breasts in Titanic without parental consent, now what would you rather have your thirteen year old looking at, a harmless newspaper personal ad or a nude woman?
