Contacting Geauga Lake

In the last week I have e-mailed Geauga Lake two times, and both times I got a return message of "Undeliverable". The address that it shows it went to was a @kent.edu address. It didn't make sense to me. I e-mailed them directly from the site, so it isn't like I copied down the wrong addresses.

Also, today I called both numbers on the site (330) 562-8303 and (330) 995-7857 and got pre-recorded information. The funny thing about it though, was on the 562 number it says something to the tone of, "If you would like to speak to a person from Geauga Lake, please press 8". I pressed 8 and got "Invalid Entry. One moment please.", and it took me back to the main menu. I thought maybe I had hit the wrong number and hit 8 again, same thing. I pressed every number on the keypad and got the same, "Invalid Entry. One moment please." and went right back to the main menu.

Has anyone else had this same problem? All I am trying to find out is how much parking passes are going to be and when are they starting the pre-processing of passes. The site says April 12, but it doesn't list times.

I tried signing up for the park's newsletter on the front page of their website and got an undeliverable message in my e-mail the other day with all sorts of strange code that I didn't recognize (sorry- I work in IT but can't figure out what this e-mail said!). The only thing that I saw that was recognizable was the word "Geauga" somewhere in there, so I assumed it was because of the GL sign-up I did. Of course, we all know what happens when you assume....

That was one of the undeliverable messages I got back. I assumed that was from them because that was the only thing I e-mailed out today.

Who knows!

I just submitted a question from the questions page and it worked. If that is where you sent yours from, I would try again. *** Edited 4/12/2004 8:26:10 PM UTC by RavenTTD***
I also got an "undeliverable mail" message when I tried to ask a question. It came back from @kent.edu. I haven't tried the phone # yet. I also saw where they said pre-processing starts April 12, but no times are listed. I would rather get my passes taken care of before opening day.

Yeah this is rather confusing. I think I will also wait for opening day to process. They have to be doing it that day. How early do the processing places usually open at CF parks?
Season pass processing is:

M-F 2:00 PM-8:00 PM

Saturday and Sunday 12:00 Noon-8:00 PM

Edit: processing began today *** Edited 4/13/2004 12:58:55 AM UTC by bigkirby***

bigkirby, can you please tell me where you found that information? I am searching through the Geauga Lake Park site and can't find it anywhere.

The site now answers one of my questions. It has updated to show the price of parking passes. $39.95 for a permanent sticker and $49.95 for a transferable sticker. While I like the idea of a transferable sticker, I don't know if the extra $10.00 is worth it. What does everyone else think?

The only thing that still bugs me about this whole Season Pass thing is that I paid $11 for S & H so I wouldn't have to go up there and process my pass. Now I'm out the $11 and still have to go up there. Not that big of a deal, but I don't like feeling cheated out of my $11. [/whining] *** Edited 4/13/2004 1:53:13 PM UTC by Sarah Jackson***

Sarah, you can call the admissions office,

1-330-562-8303 extension 4047

The transferable parking pass is not a sticker but a marking on your season pass that says you paid for parking for the year, whatever car you are in will get free parking. It's a big letter "P" next to your picture.

If you will be taking the same car each time then the parking sticker will be worthwhile. If you are taking different vehicles the the P on your season pass is more worthwhile.

In addition, park employees will be placing the stickers on the cars this year and there will be additional paperwork to record the information with the parking passes.

Have a good one!

Any idea on what parking will normally be? Will it stay the $8 that SF charged, or go up or down? I can't check the website right now (I need to cut down on my non-coasterbuzz interneting from work!)

Parking is still $8.

bigkirby, I thank you so much for your information. It is very appreciated.

I wonder if they will take the $11 in S & H and give me a transferable parking pass? That would be good. The upgraded pass is only $10 so I would be actually paying $11 for it, but I wouldn't care about that if they would actually do that. Otherwise, I want my $11 back! :)

I may or may not be getting a new car soon, so I would like a transferable pass, but I don't want to pay extra for it because I'm... uh... "thrifty"! ;)

Sarah, no problem, it's my pleasure.

The $11 S&H cannot be recovered unfortunatly. If you sell your car the park will remove the sticker for you (so bring it to them before you sell it) and place a new one on your new car. I believe this removal and replacing does not cost anything extra.

bigkirby, on the Request for Refund form it states,

"If you renewed by mail order or phone and paid a $8 shipping and handling fee, this fee will be reimbursed to you."

If they are reimbusing those people their $8, why can't they reimburse me the $11 from my internet order?

None of this makes sense to me. Again, I thank you for your help and wonderful answers! *** Edited 4/13/2004 4:13:19 PM UTC by Sarah Jackson***

Sarah,

I know that the internet renewals were done with an outside vendor.

Maybe it was you I spoke to on the phone, if you call again (maybe 3:00 after everything is set up) the situation might be clarified.

If the passes are being exchanged and not refunded, the s&h does not get refunded, regardless of how they were renewed.

I hope I was able to help you out, more information should become available soon.

Have a good one! *** Edited 4/14/2004 1:41:23 AM UTC by bigkirby***

I don't remember what time I called yesterday, but I did talk to a man who was very nice and tried to answer my questions. He answered the hour’s thing (which isn't that I didn't believe you, but I didn't know you worked there and just wanted it "from the horses mouth" so to say), but couldn't answer the parking pass/$11 thing, but did give me the number to a Jen Anderson, I think her name was, to call her about the S&H thing. I got her voice mail, but I haven't received a call back yet.

Like I said, I'm not terribly worried about the $11, it just doesn't seem right that I had to pay S&H and still go up there to process it. I do understand that it is a different company and all though, so, oh well.

Sarah,

Sure thing about the hours, it's always good to double check. I believe she will be responding to voice mail today (new office so there is a bit of confusion).

We'll see you around!

-Bigkirby

bigkirby, would it be ok if I e-mailed you? I have a few more questions that I would like to ask you that would be better answered in an e-mail rather than on here.

Sarah, that would be no problem.
