Construction at PKD and Hypersonic

I completely agree. I'm located in a pretty strategic location for amusement parks, and out of the bunch PKD is the last park I feel enthused to visit. I mean, how many times can you ride Rebel Yell and FOF? Anaconda is a head-bashing nightmare, Hypersonic lasts maybe 2 seconds? and they've just tamed it even more??, Hurler is utterly boring, Volcano is ugly and short, and they completely took away from Grizzly's charm once they chopped down all of the tree coverage around the coaster - now it's just a basic out and back woodie. That leaves a wild mouse? They really do need something to raise the thrill level in that park.

you are right, all of PKD's rides are plain out short, but I just disagree with Outer Limits, For me thats the only ride there worth the wait, and its the longest roller coaster in that park, I'll ride that, but I hate those lines, for such short rides its ridiculous, and they hardely have very much flat rides to my standard, I mean I walked down the path way and all i see is game stands. But seriously They need a long ride, maybe if they built a giga or Hyper we can get the type of long ride we can REALLY enjoy the experience, instead of being done with the ride before you can spell experience, but you got to give the rides props, I mean Impulses are short rides, but they are new editions to the roller coaster industry, they are worth it in some way, I mean I am thankful we have a Air lunched coaster, 1 of 2 in the world, and to actually have a inverted launched coaster , and out of a volcano at that. But I only hope that is PKD's intention, not to just find state of the art rides, and no matter how short they are, just stick them in . I really hope that they can do something about the length of their world class rides, Volcano and Hypersonic, Please I hope.

Umm, the drop tower is going to be an S&S ride most likely, just from what I'm guessing with XLC and all. And I doubt 400 feet, maybe 320 or so, because it'd still be the tallest. Also, an S&S Tower with 4 towers has good capacity.
your right, that makes more since, and the rumor about a 300 ft coaster maybe its the 300 ft drop ride, your right, with the 4 towers that would be cool capacity, but could that fit in the space of the scrambler, by the way where is the scrambler?, i never paid it much attention,

Scrambler is/was on the site of the defunct sky pilot ride, when your'e on the Eiffel tower observation deck just look over where wave swinger is at and then move your gaze up the grove to the right.

What makes anyone think PKD would go with an S&S power tower type ride when they've had so many problems with H:XLC? my money's still on a gyro drop/acrophobia type ride from intiman.

I think and Intamin free-fall ride would be more likely considering the other 4 Paramount Parks have them but then again I guess you never know... Personally I really would like to see a free-fall ride at Kings Dominion - thats the only thing they are really missing in my opinion.
anyone have any pics of the new hypersonic?

CANADA ROCKS!
Why do people line up for bad movies, simply for the fact that the words 'STAR WARS' are in the title?????

I will have photos of the new Hypersonic hopefully if I go on Friday. If I do go, I should have pictures by Sunday or Monday. Also, on the freefall topic, a 4 tower S&S Tower only takes up 74x74 feet in diameter, and they could easily take down one of the shops directly beside Scrambler to make room for a line/waiting area. I seriously do think there would be enough room for an S&S Tower, though an Intamin would work also. With the S&S ride, I figure PKD might go with S&S for capacity reasons. Then there is the history with XLC, which *I believe* Richard Zimmerman, CEO of PKD, said something to the effect of that he "enjoyed working with Checketts" during the Hypersonic opening date. Finally, if they did plan the ride, it would have been planned before the problems with XLC over the off-season most likely.

Oh thats cool, well I have another question just for anyone who rides Anaconda look over to the left while your on, the left and see in the distance if you saw what I saw, which was a large black pole object, and I was thinking that that is the Drop ride possibly, or could it be the old sky Pilot ride???

Sky pilot was green like anaconda's supports not black as you described.

Next time you ride anaconada try if you can to get a photo of this pole that you are talking about.
