yo spirit.. this is a park that has been in exsistince for over 100 years. the money is just not there .Neither does the park have deep pockets like other big chains. This park has gone through the depression and many managers and owners that have abused the park and its fundings. DO NOT TRASH THIS PARK. You dont ever know the history of the park. Before you condem it.It is a park thats from a by gone era. As as for coaster enthusiats OVER hype. I rest my case. They usaully over hype ever thing. You need to appricate the park for what it is. A struggling OLD traditional park trying to stay a float in a world of Large chains, big corporate deep pockets ,and money out the #$%

Whatever dude... it doesn't matter what he knows about the park. If he doesn't like it, he doesn't like it. You aren't telling him anything he doesn't know.
While my review may be harsh, if I was the only one to feel that way, then this place would have been crowded on the hot August day we we visited. So here are some positives I did find:

Before the trip, I was able to look up the park on the net to plan my trip as to why I should go there. And from the pleas I read here, I was excited. I had been there before as child.

The Blue Streak I thought was a refreshing change to the standard steel thrill coasters that you cant differetiate from each other. It was full of unexpected drops and turns with some good air time. I must of rode it at least 10 times in the two hours sittng in just about every seat for the thrill of it.

The view of the lake was not one totally surrounded by commercialism. One could still view cottages and camps as compared to hotels and hoakey tourest attractions.A nice throw back.

Devil's Den was also a throw back to yesteryear. I did like the carosel as I thought it had some rustic charm.

Ample parking close by to the entrance. No walking accross miles of hot pavement to reach the entrance. Some trees. There was some shade to sit and soak up the view.

And again, I was enthused with Blue Streak. Yes by all means if the park should go under then save it. I would even go so far as to say throw in Devils Den as a two for one bargain and I am sure the Carosel could find a home.I am glad that the place does not reak with commercialism. While my previouse post stated what the park was not - I think that running a park is a lot like coaching and the NFL - Easy to do from home sitting and watching, but it takes someone special to ignite and light a fire under a team. While I am not the one by any means, I do hope one is found soon because yes I do feel that it is "A struggling OLD traditional park trying to stay a float . . .'
