Here is a copy of the e-mail Kathy from S&S sent back to me:
"Dear Kevin:
Thanks for writing and thanks for your enthusiasm about S&S Power rides!
Yes, we are working on a wooden coaster project in the Seattle area; and yes, we think it will be a great ride.
Also, we do now have a conversion to the combo ride from the Space Shot/Turbo Drop towers--the combo ride is such a fantastic ride experience that we would like to install and/or retrofit the ride at every park in the world!
I think you'll also be excited to see some of our new "Sky Sling" rides running at a few parks in 2003......that ride is just about as fun and exciting as it gets!
Thanks again for your interest!

Also I have talked to another friend of mine in the industry who is an editor of an amusement park magazine and he gave me these stats:
Height: 120 feet
Length: 4100 feet
I can't confirm if these stats are correct but it looks promising that SF may get to build something taller than 75 feet! I can't wait to ride it!!!

BTW, you can keep an eye on this through http://www.proudlock.org/tpa/ , although they have yet to announce on the site.
Great news! Almost makes me wish I had waited a year to go to CAC!
Now I'll have to go back.

WOAH! As exciting as THIS *news* is its nowhere near 100% confirmed. There is STILL a big chance that the coaster might NOT appear *until* 2004. Let's not put the CART before the horse. I suggest we *hold* our excitement UNTIL the park announces.
Besides...it *could* VERY well be over BRAKED, like the coasters at Valley[UN]fair....

HR doubles as PR at S&S? Interesting.

Is it a dream or a memory? It's both, it's X
Wow, I barely even sputtered it out this morning....perhaps my alter-ego really IS an industry insider, and the multiple personalities just never talk to each other...;).
This DOES rock, and it WILL be finished before August, 'cuase unlike Bass, CAC will probably be a one-shot deal for us....Idaho? May as well be the moon. But you'd better believe that *when* Stan Checketts puts a ride on the moon, I'll be working my butt of to get there to ride it!
Moosh, thanks for the compliment, but you've got a LOT of work to do before you can possibly attain my level of insanity...it IS work, ya know...;). That being said, I *do* see some serious signs of progress...
I am thinking too that it may not be until 2004. It doesn't look like they have enough time if this woodie ends up being a large woodie. They are rumored to have footings on site and some wood. GASM @ SFOG I believed has been built in only 4 1/2 months so if they get started in January and have enough construction workers I think it can still be done if they hurry. I would still be willing to wait another year if it means to get a bigger and better woodie. If you have noticed there was no date mentioned about the woodie so it could be 2004.
As for braking Texas Giant, Timber Wolf and Georgia Cyclone are still world class rides providing airtime even with the brakes on. :-). I don't think I have seen as bad of braking at any other parks I've been to that sucked the life out of the rides as much as Valleyfair. American Eagle was the closest thing to getting the life sucked out of it to VF but they had a good hopefully still brakeless ride in Viper a very smooth and thrilling woodie for me. I would possibly think brakes are a possibility for this new woodie but I would be surprised if they completely eliminate the thrills and airtime on it.
