So is there a link? On the news last night all I saw was about a 20 second blurb about the waterpark, and they flashed a picture showing artistic renderings for about 3 seconds.

Is there somewhere we can go to look at the plans and drawings?

An artistic rendering was in last Sunday's edition of The Columbus Dispatch. Go to www.dispatch.com, click on the electronic edition link, pick April 1, and then choose "special sections" from the list on the left. There is a whole bunch of zoo stuff there including the rendering.

Looks like I have to be subscribe to the newspaper to be able to read the free online thing. Drat.

Drat indeed.

Anywhere else this can be found? I was surprised to see nothing on the zoo website...nor did a google search turn up anything.

Guess we'll just have to wait until something else pops up?

Compounce's, Cypress's, HW's....just saying there ARE better and worse flyers, Matt.

/me needs to return to Carowinds...

Or Knoebels. ;)

Or Camden Park. :) You ARE visiting my turf this year, right Bill? ;)

Than again Carowinds and Knoebels are my turfs as well...anything in PA, OH, or within 5 hours of me. ;)

Oops, forgot about the subscription thing. The rendering isn't that great anyway. It looks kinda cool, but it also looks very conceptual and doesn't show a lot of detail.

I don't know about Bill, but I need to get to Camden. Maybe we can do a flyer caravan fourth of July weekend, starting at Stricker's on the 4th, then Camden, Idlewild, Conneaut Lake, Knoebels, Hershey, King's Dominion, and finally Carowinds. Maybe we can fit Fun Spot in there somehow. Too bad the Columbus Zoo rides won't be open until next year. :( *** Edited 4/6/2007 7:40:15 PM UTC by Acoustic Viscosity***

^ You STILL need a class on Eastern geography....but I loves ya nonetheless. :)

Funny how I *still* can't figure out how we EVER ended up at Lake Okoboji... :~P

LOL, I thought Camden was closer to VA....it's WAY out in the middle of the sticks....no wonder nobody ever goes there...

Oh, hi Tina... ;)

I was looking at interstates when choosing that itinerary. Best I could come up with in 2 minutes.

Well...as an expecting dad living in the Columbus area, I am absolutely thrilled that the Zoo is doing this. It really has a chance to be something unique and special in the whole nation.

I have a question which may sound silly...but what exactly is a "flyer" that a few of you are pumped about? Searching google, etc. turned up a few different ride-types.

The first ride in this video

A good set of flying scooters are among the worlds best flat rides if they allow you to ride them like they can be ridden.

Wow. That ride looks like a blast! Does the rider control some aspect of the motion? Looks like fun.

Um...on a side note...why was someone wearing a caveman costume in the beginning of that video? Just curious. :)

The rider moves the sail/front fin of the vehicle. The rider controls the movement of the ride a GREAT DEAL as long as the park allows the ride to run the way it was meant to be.

^^ Costumes are a big part of the PPP event. There's even a costume contest.

For a couple years there, there was even an impromptu *unofficial* flyers contest. I'm nowhere NEAR the level of pilot to compete with some of THOSE guys...but I'm always excited about a park getting flyers so I can *practice*.... :)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
