Columbus Zoo adding temporary Ferris wheel for 2023

The Columbus Zoo announced the Adventure Sky Wheel will open on Saturday, May 27, and stick around for the remainder of 2023. It will be brought to the zoo and installed by the Ohio-based Kissel Entertainment Company ahead of Memorial Day weekend.

And that it’s 100 ft tall, booked in by Kissel no less. Talley’s Lamberink wheel at the Ohio State Fair is about the same if not exactly it.
We’ve got a swell zoo but their amusement zone efforts continue to disappoint.

I don’t think the amusement park does particularly big business. If it’s a nice summer day it’ll be the water park that’s packed.

You’re not wrong. Zoombezi Bay is the star attraction- well, right behind the zoo itself. I think there’s a pretty big season pass business and moms and kids show up on a daily basis.
The rides are hit or miss and several attractions have been removed/replaced since the park opened. I’d say chuck the whole thing but that might put John Allen’s junior woody (Jet Flyer/Sea Dragon) at risk. And we can’t have that.
