Coke or pepsi at Nagashima?

Haha, I loved Calpis Water. I found some here in the states at a local Japanese market.

Did you guys try Pocari Sweat? The worlds best drink named after a bodily fluid.

I love Pocari Sweat! I drank it all last year! Great stuff. My sister-in-laws just brought a whole bunch for me from Takarazuka! Awesome....:)

If you don't drink replenishing fluids in Japan, especially in the summer, you will die there! When I was there, they broke the record for modern history. 4 days straight @ 116 degrees with 85% humidity. Do the math on that one.

Mmmmmmm, Pocari Sweat...

I made a rule before I went that I would try everything food or drink that was offered to me, or I could easily taste. Some many awesome, different things. But I did find something that made me feel like I just marathoned on a Huss Frisbee... (My stomach can't handle many flats, especially frisbees!)

Sushi anyone?

Morning noon and night. I thought I liked sushi until I went over there. Then I found out what sushi really is. YUM :)

I agree sushi's good! I just thought maybe that's what made your stumach feel like a frisbee. A lot of people hate it.
I haven't tried Coke or Pepsi here yet. I'll have to do that so I can compare them to the US versions. I had no idea they were different formulas here. I did buy a Mets Grapefruit soda yesterday, made by Kirin, that I bought from one of those vending machines that you see everywhere. It was great. I love all of the fruit sodas you can get here. I went to Tobu Zoo yesterday, and found that you can purchase beer at the concession stands and walk around with it in the park. I didn't have one, though. As far as SpaLand is concerned, I'll be going Wednesday maybe, so I'll let you know what they sell there, and I'll look for any evidence of Coca-Cola sponsorship. I don't remember anything like that from last year. Vaguely, I remember drinking Coke products there, but not Coke. Oh, and I love sushi.

I actually liked Pepsi in Japan. Didn't try Coke, though.

Pepsi products seemed to only have a fraction of the sweetness/sugar content of the American ones. Coke products were not as sweet as the American ones, but not as drastically different. I tried to stick with and enjoy the stuff I couldn't get here like Calpis. Just couldn't get into that green tea....

My wife and I actually enjoyed the green tea a lot. We stuck to drinking a lot of water, though. It was best to stay hydrated with all the walking all over the place we were doing every day we were there. The milk tea was one of our favorite things while we were there.

I liked the Pepsi in both places. Didn't really notice that much of a difference between theirs and ours to be honest. I love Pepsi. I just don't drink it as often any more.

Now that I'm thinking about it. I did have Coke once while I was there. I got it specifically because it was a Disney Winnie the Pooh can and I just wanted the can. We did empty the contents, though ;)

No Pepsi products at Nagashima SpaLand, just Coke products, Fanta, and fruit sodas made by Kirin....and Calpis, which I've still yet to try.

I used to work for Pepsi, and it depends on what region you are in for which products it distributes. For instance, out here in the Bay, Pepsi distributes Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper. In LA, Dr. Pepper is distributed by Coke, I believe. Also Seven Up is pretty much on its own out here, but in other places, it's stocked by the bigger two. Basically, all the other smaller bottlers need the assistance of the big two in many places. Also, out here, Lipton and Sobe are bottled by Pepsi.
