Coke for all of Cedar Fair?

I work at Dorney Park, and there are rumors going around that next year Dorney Park will be selling Coke, instead of Pepsi. Then Cedar Point may be getting Coke as well. I think that Worlds of Fun sells Coke along with Knotts, anyone else have more info?

All I know for sure is that Coke folk have been courting the home office in Sandusky pretty heavily. If any switch happens, it will require Coke to give the soda to the parks at no cost and guarantee can promotions in nearby markets.

No idea about other parks, but I can verify that WoF sells Coke -- and that it refuses to redeem the free Coke bottle caps in the current promotion.

From what I haver read, I believe that Coke has been "bugging" the good folks in Sandusky very heavily, just like Jeff said. I have also heard that Pepsi signed a ten year contract with Ceadar Fair in 1991 to have them endorse and sell their product. Now as 2001 approches us, I believe that Cedar Fair is looking into their options, possibly for a change of pace. My hunch is that they may go with Coke, but that just
might be a hope. Any way, hope I answered your question, or at least helped clear somthing up.

Coke "The real thing". Worlds of Fun has coke. Coke is the only choice for pop that should be allowed at amusement parks. A bop bop, the joy of pepsi, joy of pepsi, is going down. a bop bop bop a bop a bop!

I can't help but laugh -- we are a two beverage family: I won't drink anything but Pepsi and Dutchman won't touch anything but Coke. Whoever wins the exclusivity game means one of us loses. From what I have seen, however, I believe Coke spends more on promoting its partners than Pepsi, which has to make it the beverage of choice for any park.

Latest word around the campfire is that Pepsi will stay, at least at Cedar Point.

I think Coke would have to (buy)sponsor a ride like Pepsi did with Snake River Falls,so I doubt they'll stoop that low.
Coming soon Coke:The Ride.

Yeah, sponsors for rides are stupid. Some that I know are Pepsi Max Big One, Mountain Dew Tower Of Doom, and Dr. Pepper Sidewinder. The last two they don't actually call the rides that, but there is a sign.

I do know for a fact that Cedar Fair's Valleyfair sells Pepsi only at their park, and being a Mountain Dew & Dr. Slice man myself I hope that Cedar point sticks with the Pepsi.

Playstation: The Ride is the worst offender of them all. I dunno how the idea of an S+S tower fits in with a playstation. It seems quite tacky.

As we have this forum, i can't help but feel sorry for Pepsi right now. There are rumors that Cedar Fair Parks will change over(although unlikely) to Coke, and the fact that Pepsi sponsers Pepsi Big One- the coaster at Blackpool that injured 12+ people. Bad publicity for Blackpool and Pepsi

I'm with hothitz. On those rare occasions when I actually feel the need to put something like cola inside me, I go out of my way to avoid coke and pepsi because they are such obnoxious advertisers.
God Bless the water fountains!

This is slightly off kilter but soda companies arent the only organizations that sponsor rides. Rollercoaster Tycoon (yes THAT game) sponsors the Viper (great woodie) at SF Great America.

Sponsering rides is not a bad thing as mentioned before! Who knows it could make the difference of getting a new ride of not since the sponser help pays for the coast of the ride!
