Posted | Contributed by Lorrie

Coca-Cola said Tuesday it has entered into a 10-year marketing partnership with Universal Parks and Resorts, securing Coke's designation as Universal theme parks' official soft drink. The new agreement expands that to include Minute Maid as the parks' official juice.

It's funny that all these companies know about the chemicals that are in their products. But all their tryin to do is make some money. I can't hate them for that though.

SoCal....just to keep you posted....WATER has become *quite profitable* for both Coke and Pepsi....just look at the really fine print on the back of virtually any bottled water these days, and you'll see who owns that particualr brand...;)

Coke and Pepsi wouldn't let the beverage markeet escape their clutches, not even a little bit...just ask Lipton, or Dr. Pepper, or Minute Maid, etc., etc. Become a *player* in the beverage game and you WILL be assimilated...;)

As long as Knotts still has Knotts Berry Punch, I could care less if they Coke or Pepsi products. That stuff is the greatest thing on the planet! I drink about 2 gallons of it every time I go there....... ;)
Someone on westcoaster heard that coke made the concentrate. I'll e-mail knotts to disprove this rumor. I'm worried... *** This post was edited by Speedy on 1/11/2003. ***
rollergator--

Oh I am very aware of Aquafina (A Coke Product) and the other one by Pepsi, but the average person at a theme park will pick one of the following to drink:

*Fountain Soda
*20oz Bottled Soda
*20oz Bottled Water

*and for the cheap people that are smart 0 to an extent - Drinking Fountains

The majority of people will get the first option - 20oz Sodas because what will MOST people at a theme park have? Pizza or Hamburger, fries and a soda...Rarely do you see water people buying...

I do realize that the beverage company has to know what people want on a continuous basis or they will go out of business....

I VERY MUCH agree.... I always get the punch from there but heres a secret...buy the punch at the bakery in the marketplace just outside the main entrance, you can buy like a 32 ounce cup of it for dirt cheap!!! And the HAVE to let you in the park with it since you bought it on their property....

I hope all my facts were correct as I am tired.. haha

I drink coffe. I like sitting in a recliner in the water parks on a 100 degree day sipping my coffe. It's sad really.
So Cal Coasters- They also sell the concentrate all over the resort, such as the candy store/fudge shop in Ghost Town and the Berry Market in the marketplace. You could tote it around, and mix the drink yourself in the park, by just asking drink stands for cups of water from the fountains (free, but didn't like SFWoA try and charge people sometimes), and then adding the concentrate. The bottle isn't cheap, but its a value for what you get (about 50 servings worth). I think they may sell it at a few stores too, like smart and final (which also sells Churros).
I, myself like coke better than pepsi.

I like Coke. Do you know how hard it is to snort Pepsi?

LOL @ The Legend

Water is the fastest growing segment of the bottled-drink industry. Coke produces Dasani and Pepsi has Aquafina (I believe). Companies are making plenty of profit from bottled waters.

Anyway, I own Coca Cola stock and I'm in Coke's hometown, Atlanta, so I'm pleased with the news.

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

Both Aquafina (Pepsi) and Dasani (Coke) are nearly 100% profit.......the water is excess water used in the soda bottling process which is captured, purified and bottled. The only real cost involved is the actual bottling and transportation to customers. Neither is a spring water, but rather purified water. BIG difference. I work for Pepsi and know this to be true. Anyone who pays for water is getting ripped off big time. Go to a water fountain and save yourself $2.50. Before you know it you will have saved yourself enough to get an extra day at the park. Personally I would rather drink Coke out of a fountain and Pepsi out of a bottle.
