Coasting For Kids 2013!

My total is up to $1131, thanks in large part to the generosity of several CB'ers. $280 of my total has come from them. Although I have thanked them by PM or e-mail, I wanted to thank them publicly on the forum. I will respect their privacy and anonymity, and simply say Thank You, Domo Arigato, Gracias, and Merci. One of those to each of you..take your pick.

Congratulations to you, Bunk, Birdhombre, and all the CoasterBuzzers from everywhere who contribute to the effort. I hope you all have a safe trip and a blast at your parks on all the rides. As they say in CedarFair Land, Ride On!

I'm hovering at $1630 at the moment, but have a few offline donations to enter yet. I know the deadline for rankings is tomorrow at noon, so I may need to get in touch with them to find out the amounts before the checks arrive in the mail.

Looks like our total is $109,700 so far. Here's hoping we eke out a few more thousand and beat last year's record.

We'll have no problem beating last year's total, for sure. I talked to Kara at GKTW today and she didn't check today, but she's pretty confident we're there. A last minute push tends to happen about right now, too.

I really appreciate the support the last five years. So crazy to think about how far this event has come from the humble beginnings at CP!

There will probably be more coming in yet, but today at noon was the cutoff for top fundraiser prizes, so I imagine this is the bulk of it: $126,547 across all 11 parks. Wow!

And I don't want to jinx things, but it's looking like great weather for CP on Sunday...

I got some post-deadline donations, so hopefully it keeps coming in. Did the total exceed last year's?

$24 to go... who can step up?

I saw the coasting for kids gang at cedar point today. The park is so empty!

Kings Dominion turned into a wash-out with an hour and a half left to go. The last two hours for my group were Hurler and Grizzly, so not a total loss (though I do enjoy Grizzly very much). I'll have a trip report up later this evening. How's everyone else doing?

What a great event! Will talk more later, but this was amazing. I am so happy I did this!

We had almost a hundred people at CP, and surprisingly even took in more than $150 on the midway. I met a very amazing young woman who was a wish kid just two years ago, who has bounced back from a brain tumor. The science is hard to validate, but if there's a chance that providing these vacations to these families can help the mental state and by extension the prognosis for any kid, then this is an even awesomer (made that word up) cause.

I got a 98 on my research paper for english.
