Coasters with Ironic factors

This is not really ironic but anyways Iron Dragon is not iron but steel.  More an innapropriate name I guess.

MontaƱa Rusa in Mexico City is not really a Russian Mountain.

On S:TE, you don't escape, instead you end up right back where you started.

Isn't Grand National at BPB a mobius coaster?

How can it be Riddler's Revenge when it's the first coaster named after him?

We're not White, Black, Hispanic, or Asian. We're American!

Mantana rusa is the spanish name for roller coaster and it is interesting that they derive the word from the fact that the russians created the first roller coaster. What is truely ironic is that after riding the Vekoma SLC "mind Eraser", I wanted my memory of the ride to be erased as soon as i got off the ride.
Face Off: it really doesn't take your face off.

T2-terror to the 2nd power.  This coaster is NOT a terror or scary in any way

Thunder Run-just how does thunder "run"?

God please let SFKK get something in 2002. ANYTHING!!

The Kennywood Racer tracks DO cross over each other. You just don't notice it because it happens at the top of the lift hill. The tracks going over the top of the lift cross over the track making the final dip leading to the station brakes.

--Dave Althoff, Jr.
They mean like cross over and switch sides, like Lightning Racer does.

Janfrederick:

They named it La Montana Rusa after the first "rollercoasters" in Russia. So, it kinda makes sense.:)

Kinbd of ironic that Iron Dragon should be named Draggin' Iron instead...Incidentalist, I was thinking of Grand National at BPB when I mentioned one (mobius) in England...good catch!

Just a real quick techie point, all "steel" is made out of the element "iron". It is the forging technique that changes it into "steel". But in reality, steel is just a specialized form of iron. That's why steel is magnetic.

Anyway, here's another one, PKD's 'Avalance' bobsled is in the 'Congo' section. Furthermore, 'Anaconda's are not native to 'Congo' either.

Hey Chitown, please close this topic and kick both of them off the furoms (sic). 2Hostyl and Jack Daniels No 7 do not belong in these forums at all. Plus 2Hostyl seems to have a problem to complaine (sic) alot and get into it with others. - IL_MForce_Junkie

Hmmm... I guess that mean's that Disaster Transport's name isn't ironic.

Another bit of irony...correcting my use of Montana Rusa in a topic about irony. ;)

Wildcat is actually a Wild Mouse coaster :)
I think this is turning into one of those "coaster names that just don't fit" topics.

Dave,
It's all in the specifics, I guess... I think he was referring to the tracks crossing over each other as a means of ending up on opposite sides at the end of the ride, though.  When I said they didn't cross, I meant that that's not how they switch sides.

"Reality" is the only word in the language which should always be used in quotes.

Colosus at SFMM is dwarfed by its very close neighbor Goliath. not quite so colosal anymore. The lift hill looks tiny compared to Goliath.

elevated track in the sky is the only way to fly.

KW Racer mystery---When you are on the left side, you are on the left on the lift.  When the left train goes into the first turnaround, it is in the inside track, then when you come into the 2nd turnaround, you are on the out side and remain there for the rest of the ride all the way into the station.  Same thing with the right side in which you begin on the outside an so on.  Just draw a picture and you will get it!:)

Kennywood is my home park!!!
So in essence if the Mobius type roller coaster is one big track, then they arent a true racer coaster then. SO then the racer being called racer at KW is ironic. All they are doing is just following each other because it being one track big track. its just a conicidents that they do race because they are dispatched at the same time and the tracks run along each other. its like having one big coaster with two stations. it doesnt matter where the track goes. from one station it can go on one side of the park and from the other station it can go on the other side of the park. So you see a mobius type RC arent true racers.
does anyone understand what i am saying here?

One ironic thing about Vortex at Carowinds is that the name is Vortex but the track is barely twisted at all!

HEHE!
