I wouldn't call Batman's Excellent compared to Alpie, Montu, Hulk or DD.

Alpie beats them all....not even close IMO......themed the RIDE, not just the station....

Batman's theme is just confusing, and frankly, I'm quite sick of that small tunnel that leads up to the station. It is hot, clausterphobia-inducing, and no one seems to be able to understand the distinction between front and rows 2-8. Not sure if that's a problem on all the BTRs, but it most certainly is at SFGAm.

Theming lends itself to many coasters, but the ones that stand out are Disney's (Space Mountain, BTM, Cal. Screamin', RnRC), Universal's (Hulk, DD), and Busch's (from Tampa & Williamsburg, but Williamsburg seems to be a bit more themed.)

IOA- Dueling Dragons! Best setting for a coaster and The line has the best theme I have ever seen! IOA in general is a greatly themed park!

I really thought that the Tenn Tornado had great theming, and so to did the whole Dollywood. And of course T:R the ride.

I am going to get flamed here but the Demon at Six Flags Great America IMHO was one of the best themed coasters ever and it is still great to this day. Back in the day with the theme music and the blood waterfall by the corkscrews it was awesome. It still has the awesome rock formations, light tunnel, the demon's head you fly through in the corkscrew, and even the small amount of music they have in the station now.

I still remember back in the day being terrified by the music telling me that the Demon was going to get me!

Volcano, is by far the best.
Nemesis is another good one.

I think Dueling Dragons is excellent but the big winner has to be:

Rock n' Rollercoaster at WDW. Building themed, cars themed perfectly, and music and signs all along the actual ride.

Nothing is more thorough than that.

I always hear that Hulk is such a well themed coaster. I for one thought it was something out of six flags. It was just a mildly themed que with a short video that played over and over. Then there was a mildly themed station, with mildly themed trains, that shot you into a tunneled launch. I admit it was somewhat themed, but in my opinion not much more than the b:tr and definitely nothing spectacular.

Actually I feel I'm one of the only people that doesn't think IOA is the best themed park in the world. I definitely give that nod to AK. That is theming and realism at its best. Never once did I ever think I was in Florida.

the thrill has a point...now that I've actaully (finally?) ridden RnRC, I have to agree that is a greatly themed dark-ride/coaster......excellently done....

SFGAm's Demon (not PGA's) is good, esp. for an "older" ride......I've heard from others that GregLeg's assessment of Nemesis is right on as well.....

bill *thinks* every coaster should be themed like these, and that the cost of theming a ride is negligible when compared to the benefits to park AND patrons.....

rnrc is very very good i wish disney had more thrilling rides like these with excellent themeing i think that disney should buy the whizzer and retheme it making it a ride the whole family can ride

Batman does have excellent theming, but Alpie not only themes the wait; they theme the ride, Montu has great ride theme too.

Take it up a notch, Mr. Operator! I wanna feel my brains in my feet!

you wanna come over to england. due to the fact that most parks here cant build rides really big, they have to make them look impresive in other ways, and the main way is themeing. the best examples of these are nemesis and colossus. on nemesis, the station is actually inside an alien monster thing, blood waterfalls cascade down all the rock faces surrounding the ride, there is a crashed bus that the coaster corkscrews over, the track and supports even have rust effects! with colossus, the landscape of the area is amazing. the path goes right under a corkscrew, water surrounds most the area, crumbling walls to fit in with the lost city theme are everywhere, the ride station and shop look like they could have just been dug up in egypt or greece, totally amazing. that is one thing that many US parks can learn from the UK. themeing doesnt make a ride, but it certainly adds to it.
Batman the Ride, Volcano Blast Coaster, and Flight of Fear all have excellent theming IMO.

Fire in the Hole at SDC.....well it's indoor and there's things to look at.

Gas to get to PKI, $5.60. ACE card for walkback, $50.00. Meeting up with Beastnum1 and drinking 20 lemonjuice packets, priceless

To me, its between RnRC and DD. Hulk has good theming but the only thing that was themed was the queue, station and lift hill.

Disaster Transport!!

Just kidding :)

The best themed coaster in Pennsylvania has to be the Exterminator at Kennywood. It is awesome because you don't know where you're going, because you're in the dark, and the theming is really insinc with the ride.
