Coasters that improve at night...

Just about every coaster gives a better ride at night. I was just wondering what some of your favorite nighttime coasters are. Please no repeats.

Mine is Nitro, nothing beats riding in the pitch black, especially during frightfest when all of the fog floats towards the bottom of Nitro's first drop. Gotta love it.

Grizzly @ PKD, during the day and in the front, is pretty lackluster and ho-hum.

BUT she is a far different animal in the back and at night! the construction of the mediocre Hurler unfortunately took out some of the trees surrounding Grizzly, but much of the ride is still forested. whipping over those hills and around those corners at night is probably among the best experiences around.

My top 2 for coming alive at night are SROS at SFA and Millenium Force.

SROS can be pretty outstanding even in the morning, but is even better at night. In contrast, I never understood why people rated Millenium Force so highly until I rode the last row at night. Ride the middle or the front during the day and it's a great first hill but kind of bland after that. Ride the last row after dark and the ride is fantastic!

One word says it all...

Might be shorter to name coasters that do not improve at night;) I think most coasters are "funner" at night.
Beast, Raven and Ozark Wildcat get my vote for having the biggest difference in day vs night rides. Beast and Raven because of the trees and terrain and Oz Cat because of the chaser light package.

I'd give it to MF, Raven, Legend and the one and only Beast. Papa tears it up at night.

Missing the Fallen:
King Cobra 1984-2001
The Bat 1981-1983

Raptor is alot of fun at night. I love the double helix at the end. Also, they lights it has when going into the cobra roll and when u finish the helix is nice.

Thunderbolt at Kennywood and Phantom's Revenge is pretty freaky if u get the last rider of the night or close 2 it. Thunderbolt is like a wild beast at night.

Ditto to Joe's post (Raven, Legend, Beast) and I'd like to add Shivering Timbers to the list.

i would have to say raptor because when i went there on the 25th of july we rode it at night and the trims were completely shut off and you really cant tell where u r going. the train felt like it was going faster than MF

Nitro was great when I rode it last night!
I would have to say the Lightning racer with the chaser lights and the great white at the jersey shore for the illumination and feeling of a traditional woodie on the ocean.
While this topic is kinda strange in the fact that people most likely are just listing any rides they like, I guess I'll add my two cents as well.

The two woodies to make me say "DAMN!" at night moreso compared to the daytime (beyond the typical night-ride-is-always-better ride) are Legend at Holiday World and Tremors at Silverwood. Given the fact there are really no lights around these things might have a lot to do with it, too.

YOUNGSTOWN 2010

Apollos Chariot by far... pitch black the whole ride (excluding the station and when the camera flahes during the last drop). Top Gun @ PC is the second best at night. Contrary to Apollos Chariot, Top Gun's "runway lights" really enhance the flying experience, not to mention TG's speed seems to be greatly enhanced at night. My third favorite would have to be Cedar Downs @ CP. I know that Cedar Downs isn't a rollercoaster, but it beats Magnum or MF at night by far. The vintage characteristics of Cedar Downs seem to "shine" at night.
S:RoS at SFNE, the red lights in the tunnels are a nice touch and starting from the lift until the twister layout you ride in complete darkness.
I'm amazed that no one has posted this already but Boulder Dash rules at night! Plus Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Paris.
