Coasters and Grades

I also seem to get mostly A's and a few B's here and there. I'm taking advanced Spanish, Math, and Science, and getting A's in them also. Am I a nerd, an introvert? No. Do I love sports? Yes. Do I spend all of my time on the computer, watching tv, playing video games, riding coasters? Yes. Are my teachers the dumbest most clueless people you've ever met? Of Course. I believe there are two "kinds" of smart-1 being reading the book over and over until the images of the words are burned into your brain, just so you can memorize them for the test; then 2-actually knowing what's going on, and understanding the material, apparently, that's what I have, and I'm sure most people here do also.

Welcome back riders, how was your ride...Enjoy your day, here at Cedar Point, America's roller coast.
On my last report card, I got 1 B, 2 C's and 2 D's. I think its because I spend all my time on the internet. All but one on my Favorites list in IE are coaster sites. My parents even took my laptop away from me because I play RCT too much. They think its in their closet. hehehe. It's in my bed with me. LOL
Actually it's "bizarre" if it's meaning strange...  a Bazaar is like a carnival or fair...

And I got C's in school..

I'm supposed to be able to keep my grades up there, as expected by my parents, however, I'm just a slaphappy student.  In the classes I enjoy and like, I get good grades, however, in the classes I don't like, I don't do too swell, like lower end B's.  But, I do my best to maintain good grades because if I slip, I know I won't be going out to the parks and have fun.

Whoa... you guys are all so young. I feel really old now, and I just graduated from college two years ago.
This is a rad topic... i definetly think theres a connection here. I wouldnt say we are "nerdy" but more intelligent than the GP. However we are looked upon as nerdy when we can recite facts about coasters backwards and forwards and give you a history on where B&M came from... j/k but ive got straight A's all my life, except this damn semester and stupid algebra 3/4... (venting done) but yes there is definetly a connection - like it or not.
oh and by the way - Joeboxers78, you nailed it right on with your analysis... im EXACTLY the same.
It's getting knocked around on Shockwave is what does it. :)

<lecture> Since the topic is here, thought I'd mention to those of you getting good grades in HS that at college noone makes you go to class.  That's nice at first, but it IS more than enough rope to hang yourself - trust me.  I got great grades in HS, moved to UF, mets lots of people (and some nice young ladies), and socialized like I never did in HS.  College gives you LOADS of freedom, but it is up to you to show some self-discipline.  After getting my first-ever D, and about a 2.4 GPA my first year, I learned to go to class, take GOOD notes, etc.  Did MUCH better after, almost straight A's last two years.  Even in the honors dorm, more than a few friends were sent/dragged home...do NOT make that mistake yourselves. </lecture>

CB gets a little "crap" for having a lot of younger members, but IMO the vast majority of our younger members seem to be very cool people, and I appreciate your opinions, as well as your enthusiasm, and your intelligence. </sentimentality>

im not a nerd but my consins joak around and call me a geek because i like coasters. it does sound nerdy. think about, watching some of the people on the coaster shows when they say woo hoo im experiecing 3.02 G forces, that sounds nerdy when they say that.

I get a 3.5 in the advanced freshmen classes but i don't consider myself a nerd at all. Sure i like coasters, but that doesn't mean i am a geek. I pretty popular (i guess) and i play basketball baseball golf for my school and lacrosse for fun. Since i love sports so much i guess that i fall into both categories.
Well, I'm a nerd and proud of it! I get mostly A's on my report card and in some cases, I may get a B or two. I do concentrate on my schoolwork (even though my dad says I don't!), and yet I'm definately a coaster nerd!

I've tried to take interests in sports, but it just seems difficult to keep my mind from drifting away...

I did get straight A's all they way up to 7th grade. I'm a freshman in High School right now and I have about 3 No Marks (F's), 1 A and like two B's and a C. So I basically have a D or C average.

After looking at my grade reports, I'd say there is a major flaw in your theroy, lol . But then again, I suffer frome a grave disease know as laziness.

Yeah i'm the same way, I suffer from laziness. Actually I don't suffer from it I enjoy it. I get A's and B's and there is always one class that i seem to have trouble with. I'm not stupid but for some reason (probably the teacher or my laziness) I seem to have trouble. Usually I can get a C in the class but sometimes that's after I see how I do in the class and get yelled at by my parents. Then I decide to put in the extra effort.

Millennium Force......It has its ups and downs.

I get good grades as well. The lowest grade I have ever got was a B. I usually only get like 1 B every report card sometimes I get straight A's.
