Question for the CM "Veterans" - Has CM always been on a Friday (still a school day for me :()?

That won't stop me tho - I could still make the Magnum/WT/MF ERT :)

Can't wait to go again this year! It was definiely worht it just for the free fod and consider it a slightly longer day than the usual public gets and it'll be worth it.

Slightly off topic question for those who are going: Will anyone actually make it easily to Beastbuzz the next day? The trip is kind of far if you stay on site (due to the length of CM) and then drive down the next day. I'd love to go, but I don't know if this is possible for my group coming in from NYC.

CM has been on a Friday for as long as I can remember. I can't say for sure the answer is "Yes", but it's certainly been the case...

As an "outsider" (ie not local to the park), IMO the biggest benefit to going to CM is not the ERT per se and definitely not the food (it was horrendous 2001). It's not even the large groups of coaster freaks (though a *small* group of freaks can be quite amusing *wink*gregleg*wink*loriu*wink).

But, really, you cannot beat the value of the day with a stick. IMO, the lines during the day, and even during the ERT was much less than the normal waits on a summer Saturday (sorry I'm not local so I dont know the "right" times to go (insert rolleyes-thingy here)). But basically, you have the park at your disposal for EIGHTEEN AND A HALF HOURS. Good Grief man! If you cannot figure out how to do all that you want in that time, then may the Lord be your aid. That gives you time enough to even chill out during the middle of the day and catch a show (or better yet, a nap :). I'm really considering *if* I go back to CP this year making this the time of year that I would go.

The one thing that pissed me off though was those damn bugs. They are everywhere and get into everything and there is nothing you can do but take it. It just very annoying. Fortunately, it was raining that day so their 'buzzing' activity was supressed. But the thought of them flying around on a "Bright Sunshine-ey Day" (TM) doesnt sit well with me :)

Jeremy,

I agree about those damn bugs (muffleheads). Just put it this way, between Morning runs on Raptor and night runs on MF, I really didn't need to eat because I swear I had my RDA of calories due to swallowing those f---ing things.

One of these days (yea right) I will have to scan my keychain photo from MF where you could see people covering their heads/faces to avoid them...except me, that is who was smiling for the camera...

I definitely wouldn't want to sit in the front seat of TDD when the muffleheads are out. That would not be pleasant! :-)

It's not that far from CP to PKI.

Get a motel in Sandusky or Toledo and it's only a 3 hour drive the next Morning at the most. Toledo is less then an hour from Stown and a quick jaunt down I-75 to PKI.

Jeremy hit it exactly. Yes, there will be people there, but for reduced admission and THAT MUCH TIME in the park, how can you go wrong?

Never been to CM, and am considering it this year. As a CF season pass holder, is CM admission free (provided membership in legitimate club) or at some discounted rate? I didn't see an answer to this in the CM brochure.

Timberfest is discounted, not free, but sadly I'll be in San Antonio on business that weekend. Happily, that includes a business trip to SFFT.

Free (and yes, it's in the brochure, although not necessarily very clear).

Just one last question. If you stay at Breakers is it within walking distance? When my parents booked it they said 5-10 minute drive. Anyone know?

Breakers, or Breakers Express? Breakers is walking distance, Breakers Express is driving distance.

Breakers Express is on the mainland right across from the words slowest McDonalds at teh end of the causeway.

Breakers is right behind Corkscrew.

I have been the only person in the place on a Wednesday in January and It still took forever.

I like the idea of that essay contest to win a trip to the front of the line! I thought the photo contest was great but this one kicks butt! As for the BeastBuzz question, I went to CP for that entire week leading up to CoasterMania, and then headed on down to PKI for BeastBuzz and it wasn't really all that bad of a problem. I was tired no doubt but it was worth every aching minute of it. :)
