Coastermania & Coaster EXT

Good evening. Has anybody found out if Cedar Point and Geauga Lake are going to hosting the coaster events again this year?

I have failed to find anything about Coastermania @ CP yet. It seems that in the past that ACE has had a flyer up for the event by now.

I thought Coaster EXT @ GL the following day was nice and it made for a great close to home road trip.

Before anybody says it....I screwed up the subject line...yes it should say Coastermania & Coaster EXT.

And to all of those that will point it out anyways...thank you.

They better have them again this year. I went to coasterEXT at geauga lake, and this year i was thinking about goingto coastermania.
/\ Yes because the parks owe it to us. . .

During the "NEO ACE Winter Celebration XV" at the Geauga Lake hotel, the events were mentioned.

The reason it came up at all was that there is also to be a dedication to the Little Dipper at Memphis Kiddie park and someone sugested doing it on a day around those 2 events.

The Little Dipper is the, "Oldest Still Standing Steel Coaster that hasn't been relocated." I don't remember if it was just in the US or if it was in the whole world. *** Edited 1/10/2006 4:29:50 PM UTC by Jason Hammond***

Greetings ... I finally had my own question answered. CP will have Coastermania 6/2/06 (Friday) & GL will have Coaster EXT 6/3/06 (Saturday). I called the parks today to find out. The flyers with lodging and event info should be posted soon. Take advantage of the lodging at CP and be aware of the short period of time to make a reservation for this event and to cancel for this event.
So a Friday for Coastermania ?. I'm still a rookie when it comes to Coastermania last summer was my first but I've always heard it to likley take place on a weekend like a Saturday. Seems kind of odd in a way to host it on friday though it could be a wise move to avoid major crowds, but who knows?. Im patiently anticapting the info to be released. Ill take your word for now. Thanks for the update. *** Edited 1/11/2006 1:47:43 AM UTC by SFDLdan***

It's always been on a Friday (well, at least as far back as I can remember).

I was looking up information on coastermania and coaster mayhem and I read this stuff.

Since when are they allowed into events, too? I thought parks didn't like them. :-/

Shoot it was a friday I apologize. It was such a long day though haha, I don't know why in the world i thought it was a saturday.

too busy running over little kids to get to dragster in the morning...

speaking of which, to all the people who run to dragster this year, take a look at the "husky gradient" of the line from front to back... it's quite hillarious. can tell who is in shape, and who isn't :)

Gorman - "They" aren't going in as ASO reps. It'll just be some random guy in a sweat stained coaster shirt in desperate need of a shower taking notes and trying to improve upon the "safety of the park and its visitors."
I defeinitly plan to own the run this year again, :-P so Yeah im talking the smack already if anyone thinks they can out run me,lol. I don't know why I gave it to that kid, he was slacking and begining to slow down as we reached the end of the skyride ,yet I was ranting at him telling him not to stop.

I can't wait for it this yr. I will say the wait after the run was most unberable my legs were murder. Definitly the best experience of my life. Btw some slow dude cut me off in the begining almost went gut first into a garbage can next to the carousel, haha.

Or those of us who are in shape, but think running just to get on a single ride is flat-out stupid.

Geauga Lake - We is Gooder.
well at least they mentioned the cheaper price for GL only passholders this year... i remember the fiasco we went through last year when the flyer said GL passholders will have a "yet to be determined" charge, but we got the run-around from several employees (until we finally talked to the director) and ended up paying full price.

not a big deal, but the flyer said so :-P

Gemini ERT! Woo hoo, that would be fun if they could fill up all the trains, but that probably won't happen. Coastermania is all about Magnum, at night, without the trim.

Sweet thanks for the info. I booked a hotel for Coaster EXT this morning in Streetsboro. The Econolodge on St Rte 14 & the turnpike has room listed at $46.79. If you goto econolodge.com and select internet user rate you get the rock bottom rate.
