Coasterbuzz Site of the Month

I think it would be cool if you would have a site of the month. you could set them up by category or something and members would vote for their favorite.

Nice idea, but I could imagine a sudden increase in members as all the brats create multiple accounts so they can vote for their own site 100's of times.

I agree, sounds pretty cumbersome to me.

Any popularity contest quickly disintegrates into absolute annoyance - just look at what it took to put CB Games in line.

Not only that, but the number of sites popping up these days isn't even half of what it was even a year ago. I have no idea why, but it apparently isn't as cool as it used to be to run a coaster-related site. Either that or people just don't want to duplicate what's already out there (a good plan if you ask me).

It'd be sort-of amusing if there was a CoasterBuzz site of the month, but it was always CoasterBuzz. There could be press releases, the whole works. "Hey, it's us again!"

Unless, of course, you can do it better than what's already out there. Quality will always rise to the top.

ya know, i was thinking that to keep people from getting a lot of sn's and voting over and over you can allow only one vote per IP. i do realize that it could just turn into a huge popularity contest, but it could work

We already have one popularity contest every year. It's call the Coasters' Choice Awards and we do it in the spring.
