I have to disagree with you there.

I'm going to have to partially disagree with you. If you just want to get a page/site online and are not doing complicated HTML and you not going to have someone like me work on the HTML later ... then I suppose it's fine. My experience with the product has not been good because I've found that it creates sloppy code. Of course, I'm looking at it from the perspective of going into a FrontPage created site and trying to edit it in PrimalScript (or some other text editor). The generated HTML can be very ugly.

I like to use PrimalScript. It's not WYSISYG, but it color codes the text and provides a preview ... basically, an enhanced text editor. It also has built in functions like FTP and source control.

And I will second that motion. In the professional web design/programming world, FrontPage is a product that is generally frowned upon by most. As Gemini said, the code is produces is "sloppy" and can be very undependable.

But at a more amateur level or in limited quantites, it certainly serves a purpose.

I personally use Photoshop, Illustrator, PageSpinner, Fireworks and Flash. But my expertise and emphasis is more on the design of sites. I do some coding, but not too much.

Up until recently I've worked with FrontPage Express and Paint Shop Pro out of necessity. Any program can work just fine for you if you're willing to work with the hand you're dealt.

Now I'm using photoshop and dreamweaver.

So because I've used it I'm a big loser? Got news for you... the page you're reading was composed in FrontPage.

What exactly does Fireworks do? I have it, just don't want to waste my pitiful 3.2 gigs on a program that I'll never use. Can some one explain?

Yup, I have to get rid of my site so I'm using a free trial of FP2000 until I save up enough money to buy FP2002. Then, on Tuesday, my site will be revealed to the world on a top secret server;)

I would advise against FP 2002 if you need to write ASP code. It tends to mangle it pretty badly.

LOL, I'd love to know what ASP code is so I know if I'm gonna use it;)
