COASTER Trivia 2005

Timber Wolf is one of the three I was thinking of. I'm pretty sure all the Cyclone clones make a u-turn before hitting the lift hill. Not sure about Tsunami, though. That wasn't one of the three I was thinking of.

Tsunami does a little dip first, so does it still count?
Both of the Little Dippers (Kiddieland in Melrose Park, Il and now the relocated one at Little A Merrik A in Madison Wisc.) go straight up the lift out of the station.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

^ Ahh! Good answer! Didn't know about those. So we have so far:

Timber Wolf
2 Little Dippers
MegaZeph
Tsunami

I can still think of two others. Scratch that, I just thought of another one! So that's three more! ;)

UBRhino - Matterhorn Bobleds was the first ADULT coaster I rode, also at age three. But a few months before that my parents took me to Wagon Wheel Park in Oxnard, CA, where I rode their kiddie coaster.

GREAT guess, tho! ;)

Well duh Moosh. That would have been my first guess to. :)

The comet at hershey goes directly out of the station onto the lift.

Well Chitown, technically the Little Dippers do not go "straight" (in a physical linear sense) out of the station and into the lift hill...but this is only due the station actually being on the curve. See this picture that YOU took... http://www.coasterbuzz.com/rollercoasterphoto.htm?i=1996

However if you mean in the sense that they go from station to lift hill then you are correct....though depending on how you define that too since the end of the curve is the end of the station one could say you are correct. LOL! *** Edited 3/3/2005 1:06:53 PM UTC by beast7369***

Add Screamin' Eagle and Arkansas Twister to the list.

-Jeff

^ Ahh, two more I had not thought about.

So now we have:

Timber Wolf
2 Little Dippers
MegaZeph
Tsunami
Screamin' Eagle
AK Twister

There are still at least three others.

If Timberwolf counts -- there is at least a good 30-40 feet of track between the station and the lift -- then Timberhawk must qualify also. See here.

For reference: Timberwolf

No fair posting Timberwolf pics in the off season. Now I wanna ride.

I was thinking about Screamin' Eagle for this thread in the shower this morning but was not sure if it was straight or a slight curve.

As for trivia, I have a question that I have stumped 2 boards with, but I gave away the answer both times so someone probably knows it by now. Here it is anyway:

What were the names of all 4 ride options on the defunct VertiGo at CP?

What were the names of all 4 ride options on the defunct VertiGo at CP?

That's easy: the same as the ones at Knotts! ;)

Hot Rocket, Cosmic Flip, Big Bang, Big Bang +
Darn it....I woke up this morning realizing that the Comet at HP also goes out of the station right up the lift....but, Hydra beat me to it. Great job Hydra!

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
Doesn't the Williams Grove Cyclone go out of the station and straight up the lift?

WG's Cyclone has a very short right turn to the lift.

^ Damn, does it??? The WG Cyclone was one of the coasters I was thinking about. And yeah Timber Wolf counts because it doesn't make a turn at ALL. I haven't been on Timber Hawk, but does it turn at all? That picture kind of looks like it does drop and veer off to the right a bit...but I can't really tell.

There are still two others that I can think of t hat haven't been mentioned! ;)

--Robb

Edit: Ahh, yes, you are right about the WG Cyclone as seen in the 3rd photo down on this page. VERY slight, but it's there:

As far as I know Colossos at Heide park go right into the lift out of the station.
Found two more: Zipper Dipper and Falken both go straight to the lift. Great question Robb!

Here's one: There's only one park in the world that has an Arrow, a B&M, a CCI, an Intamin, and a Vekoma. What park is it?
