Coaster Track spotted in Ohio

My sister snapped these shots earlier today at a gas staion in Lodi, Ohio.

It might not mean much, but it would be nice to think it could be going somewhere close. The track looks orange, but my sister said it was Red. It looks like it is used, pretty sure it is.

What do you guys think?

Maybe it is SFAW's Serial Thriller?

Looks awfully SLC-ish to me...I'd say it's SFAW's Serial Thriller (faded red color), but that seems out of the way from Houston to Eastern NY.

edit: LOL, Paul beat me to it! ;)

:)

My guess would be that that's parts from SFAW's Serial Thriller, en route to Great Escape, where trains/cars from the same ride have already shown up.

The Mapquest link doesn't work for me, but to my knowledge that's the only reason for there to be used SLC track on the back of a flatbed.

[geez... I take two minutes to fact check on RCDB and PAH! Not one but TWO people beat me to it] *** Edited 1/4/2006 9:58:06 PM UTC by BBSpeed26***

It has to be SErial Thriller from SFAW.

Usually when they say track spotted in Ohio it means B&M track going who knows where from SW OHIO Metals but not in this case.

Actually I-65 to I71 then east is probably the quickest way.

I think someone is getting a Vekoma and let me be the first to say NOT IT! for my home park. By the way, LOL at Paul in the last Holiblog.

Definately headed to Great Escape...

...looks like Astroworld's SLC... I wouldn't be surprised if there was a flat-bed containing Tidal Wave pieces, as there were a number of shipments that arrived this week at Great Escape.

This probably isn’t related but it is on the route to either Six Flags Darien Lake or great escape. While filling up with gas at a gas station at exit 48A. I saw what I believe is 2 sections of the Batman ride from Astroworld.

I got it on my phone but I don’t know how to download them to the computer.

Yeah, Lodi would be a logical stop between Houston and Great Escape. The place in question is a big truck stop where I-76 starts and heads east from I-71 (71 is the big north-south corridor across Ohio). My guess from there is up 71 to I-271, then I-90 through PA and NY.

I thought they were taking it to nearby Chippewa Lake Park. I heard it was getting ready to reopen.

;)

A LOT of water slide pieces have been flying through the area the last two weeks. I've seen 4 different truck loads of water slide pieces around I-71 and I-76 through the last month. Most of them looked used. I've seen some rusty red ones, dark blue, and what looked to be either teal, or some warn out green color. Don't know much about the waterslide status at parks...other than GL slashing and gutting and ripping out their expansion plans for phase 2...which reminds me A LOT of SFWoA "what ever happened to the volcano plans". Don't get me started on that ;)

The Travel Channel (or one of those type of cable stations) did an episode on the "Best Truck Stops In The World" and they featured one at the Akron/Lodi 76/71 exit. I guess its the Hilton of Truckers.
I saw roller coaster cars about 20 minutes from Knoebels today! I wonder where they are going! ;)
All of you are DEAD WRONG!!! It's the Astroworlds Serial Thriller heading to Great Escape. ;)
Yeah i agree with all the other ideas. That truck stop is amazing. The track is headed to New York, ladies and gentlemen like Jeff said follow that route.

I've got two guesses, depending on whether they were being shipped to Europe or Kentucky...:)

Back when the park went from SFO to SFWoA the park announced future plans to say how they wanted to more or less combine the parks. One of the main things they pushed to the public was, "Building a 6 acre lushly landscaped tropical land where guests will walk through a volcano and rain forest to reach numerous interactive areas with exotic birds, reptiles, flamingos, marsupials, swimming tigers and alligators." This was rumored, to go between the parks. Along with those plans, they also annouced a motion simulator IMAX movie, NEW deep diving submarine ride, constructing a monorail system and more.

Swimming tigers & alligators? Together at last?

Damn, that'd been a fight I'd like to see!
