coaster taller than dragster?

And I was so hoping for a Mean Yellow Streak ;)
Yea, Swoosh, you didn't hear that it's all a McDonald's tie-in? That Snyder guy is actually just copying a Cedar Fair idea and presenting it to Six Flags. Completely unoriginal. Pretty soon it'll be McDonald's - A Cedar Fair, L.P. Restaurant. All the kiddie playplaces will then be taken down and replaced with Zierer mini-coasters, frog hoppers and mini-water slides.

Well, you know what them only taking 194' means? Great Adventure's coaster is probably going to be only 225' high. That way, CP can keep the record by one foot ...

Im a cave explorer. I know cavers up there, and yes, they would thow a fit!!!!

P.S) I Dont think there are a huge amount of caves up there anyway :-) ... Thats not karst area just for the record. *** Edited 9/21/2004 7:17:16 PM UTC by Landon***

Well Mean Streak was another option for the Red and Yellow paint scheme, but since they are taking it out to build the new inverted floorless choo choo that is coming in 2006 why would they waste the money to paint it.

Impulse-ive, I too am worried that they will just bend another support. That's what happen though when you are not paying attention. What people don't realize is how fragile these supports are. About Magnum if they fill in the limestone caves the ACCErs will be upset (read the absolutely reliable story), we can't have that.

ACE vs ACCE - Battle to the death. Coming in 2005 ... see your local listings.

Well if I was a cave explorer, I'd through a fought too if they trued to take out my pasttime for someone's else's!

Maybe they really should just remove the ride entirely. I mean, is it really going to be as thrilling when it's only half as tall? *** Edited 9/21/2004 7:15:04 PM UTC by Impulse-ive***

What? There taking Mean Streak out? What is the matter with Cedar Point? That coaster is not that old at all.

Geez man, you came to these boards at the right time. Yea MS has been on the chopping block for years, just all the designs they've gotten in haven't fit the footprint well. Have you seen how much steel is underneath it? They're just placing the preliminary pieces before they put in the looper. I heard that's up for '06.

They put those brakes on the first run and stopped maintaining the trains so that everyone would hate the ride and not be sad when they took it out.

I mean... Iv never even road MS.. But it sure looks like fun to me!

P.S) On the caves under Cp.... I made a pretty good statement at the National Speleologic Society Convention in michigan this year against filling in caves for the purpose of develoopment.... :-)

I think all the fellow cavers agree with me. So no, Filling in any karst feature is not a good idea.. *** Edited 9/21/2004 7:22:25 PM UTC by Landon***

Oh man ewe really shood befour it goes. I mean, if you can convince anywon to take you to Cedar Point befour the end of the yeer, it wood be best for you, otherwyze you'll miss sum of the best rydes in there original state. I meen, I love Cedar Point, but even without Mean Streak, TTD's top 200' (194?) and Magnum, it's still a greaght park.
Well they figure that if the ride is half as tall they will be able to double the PPH as it will be over that much quicker. Makes sense to me.

Yes they are taking out Mean Streak, I'm torn apart about it....or was that I was torn apart by it....whatever, yes it is coming down.

So if you are playing along at home. Magnum is sinking into limestone caves, TTD is having it's top 194' taken off, Corkscrew and CCMT are being painted red and yellow and finally Mean Streak is coming down for the new inverted floorless choo choo that is being added in 2006.

Glad I got that off my chest. :)

There taking Magnun out too? I think im gonna cry.

No, im in Pre k... lol... Yes, I made it though 1st and Im out of school now @ 16 1/2...

What are they gonna take out next? Millennium Force? *** Edited 9/21/2004 7:30:37 PM UTC by Landon***

No, for now Millennium Force is ok. But have you seen how close it is to the lake? I don't know about you, but if there's caves that are causing Magnum to sink on one side of the island, I don't see why they wouldn't be on the other side. Give it another year, MF will be only 305' tall ...
Lol... As I said in an earlier post, Being a caver myself, I know that the area up there is not "Karst" land. Meaning that even though there are stray caves, the chance of there being a cave under millennium force is about 1 in 100.

I can always check with my cavers in Sandusky to find out how many caves are under CP, and where there at?

At least then we will know what to expect to sink next, lol.

I read somewhere that the Space Spiral has started to lean due to the caves. It says somewhere on the Cedar Point website that they're (;)) are plans to put a restaurant on top and call it the Leaning Tower of Pizza.

I just hope that all of the bats misplaced due to the filling in of tunnels, will have someplace else to go :) Maybe CP could open a new suspended coaster called the Bat (modeled after the one that was so popular at PKI) in memoriam.
bat conservation international would have a hey day with that! *** Edited 9/21/2004 7:52:58 PM UTC by Landon***
