Coaster Show on History Channel

I just watched a show on the History Channel about the history of roller coasters, and it was really good.  If you missed it, I believe its re-airing at 7:00 EST tonight.  Especially if you're interested in the development of early parks and coasters over the years (Coney Island, Crystal Beach, Riverview, etc.)  although it does get to modern coasters.  The show seemed about 4 years old, but it was my first time seeing it.  Of course, it stars Paul Ruben, and Paul Ruben starts chuckling when describing the gruesome injuries on CBC.

Excellent! I personally love coaster history, especially the CBC.

I actually don't get the history channel but I have seen  it - I got it from my local library.  So if you don't get the History Channel don't worry.

I like the fact that it dosen't start off with "you're looking at the worlds first rollercoaster" and show a picture of that switchback railway - that just makes my so mad!!

I've been trying to catch a coaster show 2!LOL, Its been a while since i dont have travel channel anymore:(
Are the Discovery, History, and Travel Channels operated by the same company? All three bear a resemblence to each other.

Well, I know that Discovery and Travel have something in common because you have to go to the Discovery.com website to access a lot of other networks such as TLC, Travel Channel, and Animal Planet.

At least I dont call a vertical loop a "loopdie-loop"!

I thought it was cool seeing the coasters back in the day and the one's now that had old video like the King Kobra.  Also there was a couple of seconds of Hoosier Hurricane footage, woo.

You can hear the laughter, you can hear the mighty roar. From the brickyard down in Indy to the white Chicago shore. It's a rollin', twistin', turnin' and might we both suggest. You get you fanny ridin' on the Cornball Express!

I thought the most amazing part was the footage of Mean Streak actually getting what looked like airtime! ;)

Wait a sec.  It said Revolution was built by Intimin when RCDB says it was made by Schwartzkopf.

There were a lot of errors with specs like builders, etc but it's winter and it's a coaster show so I'm happy :)

*Why can't I be that bulldog?

*I'm glad they featured on some smaller parks with this one (SCBB)

*and the Airplane Coaster at Rye was a Prior & Church
