The gates opened at 7:00, the chain was up. ERT did not begin till 7:30. At about 7:20 the general manager of Cedar Point did a little intro. He went over the events for the day, but there was a few major changes. Wicked Twister will be closed for the day, but we will try to have it open for ERT. If it is not open we will substitute it with MEAN STREAK. The crowd was dead slient. They then let us into the park. I was there with Tim and his friend John(this was his first visit to CP). We were able to get a ride on both sides of Power Tower. I prefer the drop side better. We then headed to ride Blue Streak. When we just got in line I saw Coasterman Mike, his sister, and Joe. I got out of line to say hi to them while Tim and John rode the coaster. They got off we decided to go on
Raptor
I give it a 6/10. It was kinda rough. I don't like suspended coasters. I prefer Great Bear at Hershey then Raptor.
Mike's sister, Tim, John, and me then decided to go on
Mantis
I give it a 4/10. It was good, but Chang at SFKK was a whole lot better. It also did not help that I was stapled with the seat both ways so I cound not ride a stand-up the proper way.
The lines started to get long so we decided to take around the park. When we head back to the font after they let the hotel guest and Joe Cool club members in. The line for MF was already a 1 1/2 hour wait.
We decided that we wanted to ride Magnium, but on the way we did
Gemini
I give it a 7/10. It would have been better if the lapbar did not automaticly staple myself in. The ride was smooth, but jerkey at times. BTW The one ride op liked SFWoA better than CP.
Then it was Magnium
I give it a 7/10. It was good, but NOT the best hyper I have been on. I still like Phantom's Revenge and S:RoS at SFNE better.
We then rode MF
I give it a 7.5/10. All it has is speed. It is deffenity worth the wait for front seat. But seat 2.1 gave me a nice amount of standing air time.
Next was Disastor Transport
It got a 5/10 just for being in the dark.
ABout 4:00 we were bored and left to go to SFWoA.
Park overall rating 6/10. - Acted a lot like SFWoA did last year.
Employees- 5/10. - Mean and business like=no fun.
Food 7/10
Rides 6/10- nO outstanding rides, and no rides that are reride able
BTW We wentto SFWoA after, and we enjoyed ourselves more there. SFWoA was better than Cedar Pointless IMHO
What the hell park did you go to? While Twister's state of non-operation was a bummer, I had a damn good time (and not just because of the amount of alcohol I consumed). "Magnium" was finally running smoothly and MF, wow... what an improvement over opening day. How about that Raptor crew! I haven't seen one that good in a few years.

I like wooden coasters. They do not have them. Most of their steel coasters have NO AIR TIME. The only coasters I like there was MF and Magnium. I did not say the Magnium was bad, but there are other coasters I have been on that are better. You said that MF was running better than opening day. Opening Day must have been said if at CM thery were stacking the trains 60% of the time. I only got to experance the Raptor crew once. They were working their buts off. But the ride ops at SFWOA enjoy there job more and they interact and have fun with the guest while they do their job. An example is from yesterday while I was at SFWoA;. The op at RRE had the train and station sing happy birthday to twins. My overall experance is better at SFWoA.

What is "Magnium"? I didn't get to ride it.
BTW I have been to MANY "theme" parks. Maybe that is what you expected rolling in. Cedar Point is not a theme park and has some of the BEST rides on the planet! The employees are much more courteous than any other park. In fact last night at about 10:25pm I was on a bench by the bathroom by Magnum and an employee sweeping the sidewalk asked "did you you all have a good time today" I said "yes". Then her response was "Good, cuz we all enjoyed having you hear today". Did you end up at Michigan's Adventure or something by accident??????? Were you in a parking lot carnival? I was bored at about 7pm but enjoyed doing the things in the park that I never did before. Did you ride Magnum more than once? It is a different experience in each seat.

You can hear the laughter, you can hear the mighty roar. From the brickyard down in Indy to the white Chicago shore. It's a rollin', twistin', turnin' and might we both suggest. You get you fanny ridin' on the Cornball Express!
But Dan's a weirdo anyway, so I dont see why yall are taking him so seriously ;)
LONG LIVE THE POSSE!

Friday was a fun day, although there were a few rough spots (WT being down for instance, which I'm sure bummed the park out as much as it did us...)
Staying in a resort hotel and taking a midafternoon nap while the GP floods the park really helps your perspective, though. :) We were ready to go in the evening (I'll post a full TR of my own later, just got home)

Dan,
I'm going to have to disagree with you here...
While the ride-ops at CP MAY be Nazis some times, they DO seem to care about there jobs a LOT more than the ones at SFWoA. SFWoA started off as a GREAT park this year, but it already seems to have gone downhill...They DO maintain their woodies a bit (lot) better, though.
That's all I'll give them over CP.

Timber guy said"I have been to MANY "theme" parks. Maybe that is what you expected rolling in. Cedar Point is not a theme park and has some of the BEST rides on the planet!" It is just your view. I don't like alot of the rides at CP for different reasons. I love air time, especially way out of your seat air time. I don't get it at CP from any of the rides except MF and Magnum.
Jess said, "I have never had a better time riding than I did last night." Then you must have not attended SRM. That was fun getting tons of rerides in two hours with happy and enthusastic ops that dance and ask how your day was. Also, they did not act any different during the day then at night. The dancing op was dancing both days non stop.
DejaVuv2050501- You must not have been at SFWoA latelly. I have been there on 6 different dates and one of them was physic's day. WHile I was walking I saw a manager every 100 ft. My friend and I also saw the general manager walk around and ask the GP how there day was. The people at SFWoA have been more friendly this season then ever before, and have fun when the GP is there, not like CP only when coaster events are happening.

I dont take your TR seriously. As you dont even know how to spell Magnum right
Hey,
I wasn't able to get to CP untill 4:15. I had to work in Toledo for the day. Missed the free meal, but still had a great time. Magnum WAS running smooth. Actually got a ride without any trims.
Plenty of rides on Mean Streak (stinking brake on the drop!!!), MF, Magnum and Raptor. CP staff was awesome, but have to agree with 2Hostyl about Bethany at Holiday World. She must run on Energizer batteries. How can anyone complain about getting to ride after the park closes? Especially untill 1:00AM. Besides when you have a season pass and a coaster club membership and a parking pass, the cost is zero!
As you can obviously see, he didnt ride Blue Streak.

I'm not sure if you got a chance to check them out on Friday or not, but the Iron Dragon crew was by far the best crew of the day (Raptor ruled the night rides, as usual. Their energy ALWAYS seems to pick up at night.). I timed two ID dispatch intervals at under 65 seconds. The trains were barely stopping before entering the station at the end of the ride. I have never seen an Iron Dragon crew with that much energy before!
