Closed posts w/o explanation
Recently there have been a few closed threads that just seemed to end without cause...no mod explanation of what happened or even a post by the closer. Maybe it should be obvious, but it wasn't to me. Could we see some reasons for closing threads, even if only a few words? I'd really appreciate it and I think we'd see less of the same problem in the future.

I sure hope it doesn't! That signature is there on anything I post; hopefully it will keep people from taking some of my posts personally. (I've had that problem in the past.) But on non-opinion posts like this it's irrelevant.

First, the "state" thread wasn't going anywhere. After the first fifty posts (or much sooner), who cares where people are from? I think we all get the idea.
The second thread was brought back from the dark ages before we had standards that we followed, designated in the FAQ. That thread no longer fits those guidelines.
