Clear!! Your going out of here!

They said "All clear!" before opening the floor at BTDK.

SFNE's Superman's the best!

the only one i know is on montezooma's revenge they have a bunch of stuff on a tape and they say "clear, dispatch"

[edit]oops i meant when i was there they say some stuff on the tape then after that op says "clear dispatch", and now i remember the "train is approaching the station plz stand clear" thingy too i think they do that on boomerang also[/edit]

why are we talking about this anyway?

on the big shot its funny, one time they went "½, 0" really fast

Knott's has changed a bit since Cedar Fair took over, but a few years ago on Montezuma's Revenge they used to have a recording that said
"Clear" pause "Dispatch". When the train was on it's way back it said "The train is quickly approaching the station, please stand clear"

At the Adventuredome, they told us we had to say "Station Clear" but anything you added to it was fine, within limits of course.

Most of the SFMM rides say "clear" but there are exceptions. Superman has a recording that says "Prepare for Launch". Ninja ops will say "load clear" or "unload clear" since its hard to see through the train before saying "clear". Riddler's Revenge ops say "Your restraints we be locking on my count of 3,2,1...your restraints are now locked. Clear"

They only say clear on a few rides at Disney...Cali Scream at DCA and Astro Orbitor at DL.

"ok everyone go ahead and pull down on your shoulder restraint so you feel nice and stuck!"

My favorite is at Paramounts Kings Dominion for the Flight of Fear.....they never say ANYTHING....they hook your lap bars, give thumbs up, and then u just sit there waiting white knuckled...and WHOOOOOOOOOOOSH u shoot off down that launch tunnel...its been the only launcher ive ever ridden anywhere where the ride ops didnt ever say "clear for launch" or "3 2 1 goodbye" or anything else corny.
At SFOG, the ride ops say something along the lines of "attendant 1 ready, 2 ready, 3 ready, unit clear, ready to dispatch" on all of the coasters, and also on Acrophobia. The people at Top Gun at Carowinds just simply say "clear". And when I went to PKD, the operator at FOF said "sit back, relax, and enjoy your ride" and timed it perfectly every single time.

on Wicked Twister, you get a "Launching in 3...2...1" (sometimes skipping the 2 or 1...)

The girl running it when we were there in July was having a good time with the crowd.

"Launching in 3" gone
"Launching in 3.....21" gone
"Launching in" gone

So we're ready for her from the letter L, and we get

"Launching in 3.....2.....maybe 1?................................"
Maybe she was waiting for somone on the train to look over to the control booth to see what was happening, because it must have been a good 5 or 6 seconds after 1 before we launched. Sure made the ride more fun.

At the parks I have worked at it was a saftey thing...to let the crew know that the vehicle was secured and ready to move. It was madatory.

From the looks of it, maybe its less of a saftey thing and more of a "fun" thing.

but you can always make it fun!

Its easy to be objective to my home park(S). Good bad and ugly its all there. Small or big. coporate or privately owned its all the same to me.

..of course!

On S:UE at SFWoA the op was having fun.

"10, 9, 8- (LAUNCH)"

"We are sorry riders, the ride is experience major restraint locking diffcul- (LAUNCH)"

"Buh bye."

"(yelling to other op) Are you sure you locked the- (launch)."

"Launching in 3... 2... 1... 0... (yells to other op) Darn... its not working." Other op "Are you sure?" "Well maybe I should call matin- (LAUNCH)

I think it really depends on the crews running the ride at any given time.

Sometimes you'll get a great crew that's really enthusiastic about their work which in turn makes the ride all the more enjoyable but every once in a while you'll get a crew that's less than happy with their work and they just don't make the ride as enjoyable,or in the case of launched coasters anitcipative.

For example last time I was at SFA my sis & I boarded JJ and after checking the trains the ride op gave his usual "safety lecture" about half way through his speech on keeping your hands & feet in the train at all times he up & hit the launch button, neither my sis nor I were expecting it which made the ride all the more exciting to us.

My current favorite is Xcelerator. There is a strip of lights at the end of the station to simulate the countdown of a drag race. There's a red light at the top, a series of yellow and amber lights in the middle, and a green "go" light at the bottom. What's funny is that when the countdown begins riders are fixated on those lights in anticipation of the launch but the train zooms out of the station just before the green light is lit, catching riders slightly off guard ;-)

For the chiller at SFGadv they usually say 10..9..8..1, then launch it.
well at michigans adventure on timbers, there is one ride up( i think his name is jon.) but he always has allot of fun with people, after the lap bar check, he will say clear, after the other train enters the helix
Crikey, they have the same drag race light system for Hypersonic.

I, am nobody, and nobody is pefect!

The Legend has a cool one. I don't remember it all, but the ending is something like "As you race across the twisted track, please remember don't look back."

Once at SFGAm Batman: Light it up!

SFGAm V2: Prepare for launch!

Once on Iron Wolf: Hit the big green button!

Same guy for Batman and Iron Wolf. Actually, he lives two houses down from me. Nice guy. Ah well, that's my two cents.

Take it up a notch, Mr. Operator! I wanna feel my brains in my feet!

It was great on Hypersonic, being my first "XLC" I was watching those lights as if they where threatening me. Then when it turned green we just sat there... waiting... it must have been a full 4 seconds, but it seemed like forever. Then with the very loud gasp of compressed air being released we were off! It was so incredible and it did that everytime!

On V2 here at SFMW, I know the ride ops and so they always have a little fun with me. One time when i rode in the front, Jeff (on the cool crew) did a little finger dance on the control board and pushed the button (the launch is about 4 seconds after you push the button) and continued to do the finger dance, making me believe he hadn't pushed it yet. Wow, that was fun!
