Choice of Six Flags

If Mindbender isn't "all that" how does oG's coaster line-up hold a candle to GAdv's? Unless you're deducting points for having Viper and a poorly run B:TC. :P

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

It holds a Candle with Scorcher,Cyclone,Deja Vu, Gasm, and Mindbender. That's discounting Batman and S:UF , because of the clone factor , even though they're both better than all of the aforementioned.

And I'm not saying Mindbender is bad , it even sits in my top ten , but it's just not as amazing as some people proclaim. The loops are typical Shwartzy goodness , and there are points of air in some points. The double Helix is what puts it near the All-that category , but it doesn't break the barrier. It's just not what people claim it too be.

SFOG is a very nice park. It has a lot of trees, and is great to just waltz about in , with good visuals everywhere. It is very tiring, however , because of the awful layout.

One hour 'till the party begins. I'm gone.

just stick with the md one.
If you're a fan of the woodies, oG is a far, far better place to go.

Cyclone/GASM > Rotting Lumber

The Mindbender has a double helix?

-Look past the flesh...and see your enemy-
Its the "third loop."
I live in VA and I've been to Marylands, Georgia's, and NJ's. If I were you, I would to to NJ's.
One word - Schwarzkopf. Go to GA and experience the bliss that is Mind Bender. Two hours north in Chattanooga is Lake Winnie - the best traditional park in the Southeast.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
Ok, but how is the "third loop" a double helix?

-Look past the flesh...and see your enemy-
Six Flags bills it as Mindbender's "third loop," and also advertises Mindbender as being the world's first triple looping rollercoaster.

Ok, I understand all of that. I was under the impression that a double helix was something like Raptor's finale. My bad.

-Look past the flesh...and see your enemy-
You're right Anomaly , it's not really a Double Helix , but it's kind of an oddly shaped one+half helix.

The intensity at the Bottom is still insanely fun.

Just got back from a New Year's Party. Ahh , the joys of silly string.

Re: Mindbender's "third loop": To me it's really the steel equivalent of the helix on KG's Twister....simply brutal and delicious....:)

It IS an amazing coaster, and *still* my favorite ride in the park...although a trimless Ga Cyclone ride has eluded me thus far....;)

GAdv may have great steel (and both sides of Chiller running would assure that)...but I'd take SFoG for a great "all-around" line-up...

Why not SFNE for S:ROS?
I live in Baltimore and SFA is our home park, but each year we like to use our passes to visit other SF parks. Last summer we made it to SFNE, and I have to say that I was impressed with that park. About an hour flight from BWI. It was worth the trip.
My last trip to SFA wasn't the greatest. Hopefully it's improved since I was there though.

Once again, another topic about Six Flags involving SFGADV, and once again, more people saying negative stuff about the " people". If your affraid of us in the northeast, dont bother going to the park. All we need to see is another post in this site taking cheap shots at us who live near and attend SFGADV.

You're right...Although, I wonder what the reaction of someone from the northeast would be if someone called them overly sensitive. Just curious.

As to the original posters question...While it isn't in Georgia, if you drive there from VA, you can hit Paramount Carowinds near Charlotte on the way there or on the way back. There is plenty to do down there depending on who you may be traveling with..As was mentioned, Stone Mountain is a great place to visit. There is plenty to see and do in downtown Atlanta. If you don't mind a short drive, there are lots of little things to do/sights to see in northern Georgia..Like beautiful waterfalls, a nascar museum, basically anything you may want to do outdoors can be done there. If you go south a little ways, you can visit Wild Adventures.

No further explanation needed. I'm hopelessly lost.
Thanks for all your help.........
SF Gadv all the way! SFog ain't got a floorless or hyper, so screw them, the rides aren't big as ours up here!
