Chocolate World Makeover

...I've only heard about the real tour! Was this a seperate attraction...or did you access it through the park? It was a ride-through tour wasn't it?
I remember taking the tour around 1973. So it was even before the park began its expansion beyond the old Arena/Derry St. The tour was of the factory you go past on the Monorail ride.

Our tour was part of my 7th grade class trip. The bus dropped us off along Chocolate Ave. and the tour was a walk through. I remember some of the smartass kids in my class wanted to try throwing pennies in the vats of chocolate-- I guess that's one of the reasons they stopped the real tours (along with other health and insurance concerns I'm sure).

After we got our candy bar, the bus took us over to the park. I think we got dropped off in front of the arena. We spent the rest of the day getting shoved around by teenage and young adult line jumpers. I actually had such a horrible time, I didn't go back to Hershey for more than 20 years.

Pics (of both Chocolate world in general and from on the Chocolate Ride) and full on-ride video of the Chocolate Ride here. :)

Great picks Gonch...
There will be no Figment bashing on these boards. I still have a cup with little floating Figments in it from the first time I rode it when I was three. ;)

Me? I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid.
I didn't bash Figment, I bashed the annoying song. BIG DIFFERENCE ;) D@*# it the song is back in my head again.... grrrrrr!!!!

"One little spark of inspiration, is at the heart of all creation ..." Everybody!

"Imagination, imagination!"

Yeah, it's in my head now, too. OK, Hershey's song doesn't seem so bad. :)

Even though I don't like chocolate I love the attraction. The singing cows, er, cattle sound hilarious!

I hope to visit again next year. I miss my Lightning Racer and my Storm Runner. :-P

Oh, and Great Bear. :-)

Micheal Darling, don't you dare bring Carousel of Progress into this! ;)

"Yo Ho, Yo Ho A Pirate's Life for Me!"

"When the crypt doors creak and the tombstones quake, spooks come out for a swinging wake. Happy haunts materialize, start to shriek, and harmonize. Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize.

Now don't close your eyes and don't try to hide, or a silly spook my sit by your side. Shrouded in a daft disguise, they pretend to terrorize, grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize."

Wow. I think I've spent too much time at Disney parks. That was from memory...

Cue... Splash Mountain's music. ;)
"How do you do, really glad to meetcha. Fine, how are you, happy as I greetcha, blah blah blah blah, pretty good, sure as you're born."

"Everybody's got a laughing place, a laughing place, to go oh oh. Take that frown turn it upside down..."

"Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay. My oh my what a wonderful day. Plenty of sunshine heading my way. Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay. Mr. Bluebird on my shoulder, it's the truth. It's factual. Everything is satisfactual..."

Guys lets give Michael a challenge: Spectromagic song. ;)

2022 Trips: WDW, Sea World San Diego & Orlando, CP, KI, BGW, Bay Beach, Canobie Lake, Universal Orlando

On this magic niiiiiight, a million stars are right beside you, cast a spell of liiiight, glimering, shimmering never fading....

Micheal, isn't it "pretty good show us your bong"? Reason why I ask is because in the last scene of WDW's SM there is a bong. I'll have to find my picture of it so you can see it. I laughed my butt off when I saw it because we had been singing the song incorrectly through the entire ride (saying bong) and then there WAS THE BONG!!! :)

I know you're all trying to show how annoying Disney ride songs are, but all it's doing is making me want to go back. :)

Gemini some may be, but Im with you on that one. I actually own most of them on CD, which I occasionally listen to; especially in the months leading up to a trip down there.

Guilty! I own all of the Disney park CDs. I especially enjoy WISHES and BELIEVE.

Anyone have the lyrics to Tapestry of Nations. ;)
Don't tempt me... I have that on CD too. Loved that parade! Hopefully it will come back in some form when they introduce the new EPCOT night time show in 2007.
