Chocolate World Makeover

I saw a small article in my local paper this morning saying that the Chocolate World ride @ HP would be closed for the next three months while they give it a makeover. Something about some new features including singing cows . The remodeled ride is supposed to open again around April 1.

I found a similar story online here===>

Oh no!! It'll be nice to see it updated for once, but I will miss the old version!! I remember when we rode that sucker every morning of the Hershey Con back in 2001 (?). Too much fun.....
Wow, I guess change is good. I enjoy that little ride. I first rode it when I was only 1.

CP was amazing, going back next June to ride Maverick

I might be mistaken, but didn't this ride just recently get refurbished?

A day at the park is what you make it!

It was last refurbished in 1998 (according to the article).
The ride didn't get refurbished, but the building did.

The second most annoying ride song in the world, only to It's a Small World. :)

-sings the Mexico song from El Rio del Tiempo @ EPCOT-

Are you so sure about that?

"Welcome me amigos to friendly Mexico..."

Are you saying that you would prefer JIYIWF's theme song "Imagination" over HW's theme song? Surely you jest.

"Imagiiiiiiination. Imagiiiiiination."

One Little Spark isn't bad... but the screechy figment voice of the new ride... ugh.

The Hershey Chocolate World ride was, i guess, my first amusement ride that i actually enjoyed...i love that ride!

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

Well, we always make sure to see Figment when we're in town. :)

As long as the entire ride isn't changed, I'm up for a mild update. It's a great ride- the closest you can get to a "Disney" darkride without going to any of those parks- and it's free!
Not only free, but you get handed free chocolate when you exit. How cool is that?

Why am I thinking that Sally has more going on in Hershey than the new ride in the park?

FINALLY! lol
Yeeeeees, to El Rio del Tiempo. In my opinion, no one's life is complete until they've sat in a hot tub drinking margaritas while three guys stand behind them playing guitars.

Free chocolate, yes. But then they drop you off right above the fudge shop/bakery. You can almost hear the ghost of Milton taunting you... "Just try and get out of here without buying $20 worth of chocolate. Mwah-hah-hah-hah."

RGB, who still remembers the days of the "real" factory tour and full size candy bars at the exit.

Weird about the "real" factory tour. I was, meh, I'll say 7 or 8 when I first rode. Going back for the tour almost 30 years later, I *thought* the sample bars had shrunk... ;)

:)

...and at the prices there, I'm HAPPY to spend 20 bucks on chocolate at that place...AND, I get to ride Lightning Racer.. :)

edit: So when do I start gettng kickbacks from SallyCorp....or do I just get a job, Jax isn't that far from here...:)

I'm looking forward to the makeover. As long as they don't get too crazy, like they did with that late 80's version that had the space alien or whatever showing you around. Does anyone remember that?
I also remember the Factory tour from my pre teen days. I used to love going through the real factory and getting a free bar at the end of the tour was always a bonus. But then again what was the cost of a full size bar back then (probably a quarter, if that). Any upgrade can help the ride even though it still packs them in.

Watch the tram car please....
