CF Parks & Water Parks

I haven't been to any of the other Cedar Fair parks, I think Soak City needs to be included in regular CP park admission. Cedar Fair should incorporate one admission price for the amusement and water parks, just like Six Flags, the Paramount chain, etc......What do you think?

Dorney & Wildwater Kingdom are one price for both.

Today the waterpark was packed and the coasters were running mostly empty.

Well the problem is that Soak City is a "legimate" water park that could easily survive without CP next to it, sure its not Noah's Ark but it aint no Valleyfair! either. Most waterparks (exception-Dorney and PKI) that exist with theme parks are too small to go at it on its own.

I still say it's a rip-off. There are water parks in Myrtle Beach that sit alone and are no bigger than the Dorney or PKI water parks.

King's Island water park is included in the entrance price because the Beach is no longer than a mile away. If they charged for it, people would just go to the Beach because it is a lot bigger and a lot less crowded.

What beach are you talking about?

Now that the weather has finally broke here, I need to get to Dorney again - maybe next Saturday. Has the addition of 10 slides dispersed the peeps any better?

CP is a two day park for me without Soak City, so I can understand why it is separate. My favorite part of Soak City is the adults only pool, something every water park should have:).

The Beach. It's a waterpark no less than mile from King's Island. Kinda weird if your new to the area...

I think that it SHOULD be included with the price of admission only because I first visited the waterpark just last week, and I must say that although it's quite nice with a good variety, I wasn't blown away... especially compared to Worlds of Adventure's expanded waterpark

What I DID love about Soak City... and I mean absolutely LOOOOOVEED... is the heated slides & pool it dumps into... I could go on those all day and night. Although it'd get boring after awhile... if the extra price of admission to upgrade to a ride AND slide pass is to get heated water... count me in.
I can't tell you how many times I bum out because I think the water is just too damn cold. If Cedar Point used hose water just like any other park for the entire water area... it wouldn't really be worth it.

I personally find a better variety now in Worlds of Adventure's slides because of the sheer veriety... but CP's body slides D...O......N...O...T......H...U...R...T!!! :) That's a big plus too.

Who knows, but I think the seperate price of admission keeps the count of the population down to a minimum so as not to incur overpopulation at the waterpark, therefore, creating lines that are like 20 minutes for a single slide. Soo, I kind of agree that they charge. With the crowds that CP has... it's a smart idea.

Also might I add that their Adventure River and their policy of once your on the river you can stay on as long as you want is another great thing about that park.

I don't live in that area. I do live in Ohio, but have only been to KD and Carowinds out of the Paramount chain.

I didn't think you did live around that area, but any parkgoer going to KI would probably think the Beach is a part of KI because they are so close. It's a GP nightmare.

I think that most of the Six Flags Waterparks are a seperate admission. I can only think of SFStL, SFEG, SFWoA, SFAW, SFFT, and one of the northeast parks (SFNE?) that include the waterpark. Most are still seperate. Cedar Fair's are all included as well except for all of the Soak Citys and Oceans of Fun

New England is part of the admission.
Darien Lake's joke of a water-park is part of the admission
The Great Escape's waterpark is also a part of the admission.
Finally, New England is included in the price of admission
I forgot about SFDL. I was thinking SFNE when I said one of the N'eastern parks. As for "non flagged" parks I don't think he was referencing to them when he stated SF parks.

You also forgot that SFA's water park is included in the price of admission.

Soak City at CP will never be included with admission.

DP's WWK is legitimate as all get-out as a stand alone park, but I think it was included before CF, wasn't it?

I think CF was trying to include separate waterparks throughout their chain at one time. Would you believe VF's WhiteWater Country was a separate gate at one time? To this day, they have to remind people (thru ads) that's it's free now.

There was a time back in the day when WWK was separate from Dorney. The entire entrance midway and all the rides around it (from Talon to Camp Snoopy) was where the parking lot was located. You had the option of buying admission to Dorney, WWK, or both, then you would get one of the nifty color-coded plastic wristbands that would let you into the right park. The season pass parking entrance was the main lot entrance. I think the old main ticket window for Dorney was located somewhere along the entrance midway, because it was much closer to Hercules than it is now, and faced the opposite direction since the parking lot was on the other side. The original WWK entrance buildings are still standing.

Oh I couldn't agree with you more!! :) Heck the adults-only area at CP is one of the top reasons for going back. Too bad that can't make the rest of the park that way ;)
